Upcoming survival horror game Silent Hill f will include some enhanced features on the PlayStation 5 Pro. Silent Hill f was announced by way of a teaser trailer back in mid-October 2022. In development with NeoBards Entertainment, the same studio behind Resident Evil: ReVerse and, more recently, a co-developer of Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, the next entry in the Silent Hill franchise still has no official release date yet but is expected to be available sometime in 2025 or 2026.

Why Silent Hill f Could Make or Break the Franchise

Silent Hill f looks promising, and one can only hope that it lives up to high expectations, for the sake of the franchise as a whole.

PlayStation 5 Pro owners who have been anticipating the horror game’s release may also be excited to know that it will include some enhanced features only available on that console. As shown on the Silent Hill f PlayStation Store listing, one of the entries under the PS5 Version subheading states that the game will be “PS5 Pro Enhanced.” There’s no word yet on exactly what PS5 Pro enhancements players should expect to see once the game is released, but based on other enhanced games, there are likely to be several customization options to allow players to tailor the graphical fidelity, FPS, and other visual and performance issues to their liking at a greater output then the standard PlayStation 5 can provide.

Silent Hill f Will Get PS5 Pro Enhancements

The news may not come as too much of a shock to those who have been following the trend of big-budget, action-oriented games released on PlayStation 5 since even before the release of the PS5 Pro last November. More than 80 different games had already been outfitted or upgraded to take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s more powerful hardware at the console’s launch, and plenty of games released since then have followed suit. Since the start of February, newly released games enhanced for PS5 Pro include Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and Monster Hunter Wilds, with Forza Horizon 5 on PS5 Pro confirmed to be receiving a choice between Quality and Performance modes when its port for the PS5 releases in April.

While sales of the PS5 Pro are lagging behind the PS4 Pro in a comparison of equivalent timeframes since their respective launches, those numbers may be skewed by a recent worldwide decline in hardware sales and the subdued rate of growth in the global economy. However, recent news of an upgrade to PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, or PSSR, coming in 2026 through a partnership with AMD may provide gaming enthusiasts with a better reason to pick up a PS5 Pro and bolster the releases of future enhanced games.
