Thanks to the Holy Knights, fans have seen the arrival of a bunch of powerful enemies, and one of them, Saint Killingham Rimoshifu, is known to hold the legendary Devil Fruit ability of Kirin. • Awakened By Killingham

Killingham’s Devil Fruit ability was shown to the fans in the very early phases of the Elbaf arc. Killingham arrived in Elbaf in One Piece chapter 1140, and that’s precisely when Oda decided to debut his ability, although just in appearance. This is because he actually arrived in his hybrid form to Elbaf, which easily pointed out to the fans that he had a Mythical Zoan Kirin Devil Fruit.

Good job, Killingham! You’ve put them to sleep already. — Sommers

In One Piece chapter 1143, Oda went ahead and confirmed to the fans that his Devil Fruit was, in fact, the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Mythical Model: Kirin. The Kirin Devil Fruit is extremely powerful and there is absolutely no denying that. This Devil Fruit allows the user to turn into a Kirin, as well as utilize all the powers of one as well. Given how diverse the Kirin has been across the various depictions, fans weren’t entirely sure what they’d be getting. But, Oda has now explained most things about the function of this Devil Fruit.

States Of Transformation

Given that the Kirin Devil Fruit is a Mythical Zoan, it is no surprise to know that this fruit allows him to transform himself into a Kirin. To be more specific, Killingham has three forms:

  • Human Form: Just like all the Zoans, Killingham can simply assume his human form and in some cases, certain Devil Fruit users can still utilize abilities of their Devil Fruit power in the human form. For now, Killingham’s human form remains unseen.
  • Full Beast Form: This form would see Killingham turn fully into a Kirin. This would give him all the power boosts that the Devil Fruit offers, such as enhanced strength, speed, durability of a dragon, immense endurance, stamina, and recovery rate, among many other things. His unique powers should also be accessible to him in this form.
  • Hybrid Form: As with all Zoans, the hybrid form is the most exciting one, and it is also the one with the highest usability. To put it simply, the hybrid form of the Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Kirin allows Killingham to take on a human-kirin hybrid. This is the state that Killingham is usually seen in. It offers him all the powers of the full transformation but in a humanoid body.

Listen, kid! There’s a level beyond regular Devil Fruit abilities, and in rare cases, powers awaken! — Doflamingo

Devil Fruit Awakening

Although the white scarf around the neck isn’t always an indicator of Devil Fruit Awakening, there is a possibility that Killingham is awakened. In that case, fans need to keep in mind that Killingham has an extra transformation. Unfortunately, telling Awakened transformations apart is not easy. For instance, Yamato isn’t Awakened yet has the white scarf around the neck. Similarly, it appears Killingham hasn’t tapped into his awakening yet either. His awakening form should give him yet another transformation that boosts his skill to the next level.

The Power To Turn Dreams Into Reality

As far as the unique power of Killingham’s Mythical Zoan fruit goes, fans have finally seen it. To put it simply, Killingham can put people to sleep, and then go inside the dreams of other people and pull any element of it into the real world, making it real. For instance, when he put the Giant children to sleep, he went into their dreams and brought out their nightmares, turning them into reality. Similarly, in One Piece chapter 1143, Killingham put Sommers to sleep, and he went inside his dreams, pulling salt from it and making it real. This Devil Fruit offers him Limitless powers. Anything a person, including Killingham himself, dreams of can be turned into reality.

One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1143, is set to be March 23, 2025.
