The Mega Absol Raid Day will be taking place on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2pm local time to 5pm local time. In addition to Mega Absol’s availability in Mega Raids during this event, there will be several bonuses and features to benefit from; read our complete guide below to ensure you make the most of this short event.
Featured Pokemon: Mega Absol
Mega Absol will be the featured Pokemon for this Raid Day event. In terms of Raid Days, this means that Mega Absol will be available to Raid against at several locations during this event, appearing more frequently than normal.
Additionally, all Absol encountered following the successful completion of its Mega Raid will have increased chances of being Shiny. Shiny Pokemon are typically difficult to acquire, so make sure to take advantage of this unique opportunity!
Mega Absol: Featured Attack

Event Bonuses
There will be two different bonuses active throughout this Raid Day, allowing you to participate in and complete more Raids than you would normally be able to. These two bonuses include:
- Obtain five extra free Raid Passes from spinning Photo Discs at Pokemon Gyms.
- Use up to 20 Remote Raid Passes (from Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 5pm PDT, to Sunday, March 23, 2025, at 8pm PDT).
Free Timed Research
All players who log into Pokemon Go during the hours of the Mega Absol Raid Day will receive free Timed Research, requiring you to complete specific in-game tasks in exchange for rewards. If this Timed Research is completed before the conclusion of this event, you will be rewarded with:
- 10,000 Stardust.
- An additional 1,000 Stardust each time a Raid Battle is completed.

Raid Day Ticket
There will be an event ticket available to purchase in the Pokemon Go in-game shop for this Raid Day, costing $5.00 USD. Those who purchase this event ticket will unlock additional bonuses to benefit from during this Raid Day, including:
- Eight extra Raid Passes from Pokemon Gyms.
- Higher likelihood of earning Rare Candy XL from completing Raid battles.
- Earn 50 percent more XP when completing Raid battles.
- Earn double the Stardust when completing Raid battles.
Mega Absol Raid Tips
Although the Mega Absol Raid is not the most difficult Mega Raid to complete, it is important that you go into this battle with the proper preparations. This means making sure that you are using Pokemon that are especially strong against Mega Absol, dealing Super Effective damage.
In the case of this Raid battle, this means using strong Fighting, Bug, or Fairy-type Pokemon, dealing increased damage against Mega Absol specifically. Additionally, you will want to make sure you are attempting each Mega Absol Raid with the help of at least one or two other Trainers.
Additionally, it will be useful to Mega Evolve a Pokemon you are battling with in this Raid. This will increase the power of attacks that match the type of the Mega Evolved Pokemon, applying to both yourself and your allies.
