How To Farm Gold In Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Gold AC Shadows

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows Gold can be used to improve Legendary Armor, and players will need tons of this precious material to get their gear to the maximum level.

Players have a lot of options to farm Gold, and some of them include the following:

  • Completing Missions, Contracts, and Killing Objective Targets
  • Killing Wandering Ronin and Samurai Daimyo
  • Completing Weekly Quests Through the Shadows Project ‘Season Pass’
  • Looting them From Enemy Camp Chests
  • Purchasing It From Special Merchants

Itinerant Merchants selling Gold and Side Quests with rewards like this precious material can be found by scouting the cities and sometimes even wandering across the world. So pay attention to every NPC with a Dialogue bubble over their heads.

Gold doesn’t always drop from enemies or chests, so the best possible way to get gold is to look for Contracts and Quests that guarantee this material as a reward.

So first, let’s take a look at how Contract and Quests (Objectives) work in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and how players can use them to get their hands on more Gold to upgrade their Legendary Armor.

In AC: Shadows players can pick Canon Mode to feel fully immersed in Sengoku Japan, but should they select this option? Here’s what they should know.

Completing Contracts & Objectives

Inside the hideout, players can find the Contract room, where new secondary objectives arrive with each passing Season. Finishing these up will sometimes award players Gold, which is indicated in the rewards upon selecting the contracts.

Pay special attention to them, as they are constantly renewed throughout the adventure, and they’re a good source of crafting materials, Hideout Resources, and of course, Gold.

As mentioned before, some NPCs that are hidden around the map will sometimes have special quests/side quests that also award Gold as part of their rewards.

Killing Elites, Wandering Ronin, And Samurai Daimyo

Elite Enemies will sometimes drop items including gear, gold, Mon, and other valuables. Most of the time, these enemies are present in Enemy Camps, Strongholds, and Castles, but killing them won’t be easy, as they have more life and armor than regular enemies, and can kill players with a few blows, so watch out for their Heavy Attacks.

Wandering Ronin are part of the Kabukimono criminal organization, and they will be traveling around certain cities, (like Osaka and Sekki) and are marked as Elite Enemies, but they’re much stronger and harder to kill. Plus, they’re often accompanied by a cohort of other Samurai that will try to murder players as soon as they approach their boss, so watch out for them. Killing Wandering Ronin has a chance to drop valuables and gold as well.

Finally, Samurai Daimyo are present in every Fortress or Castle, and upon killing them, Naoe or Yasuke will gain Mastery Points, and they have a chance to get Gold from them as well. Plus, killing the Daimyo will unlock the location Chest that often contains Legendary Gear, so they’re the best way to get good gear and upgrade materials.

Completing Shadows Project Weekly Quests

Assassin’s Creed Shadows has a Season Pass (sort of) called Project Shadows, and certain objectives, achievements, quests, and generally progressing through the adventure will allow players to level it up and claim many rewards.

The Unwritten Rules of Assassin’s Creed Shadows Explained

Before setting off on a journey through Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ feudal Japan, players should familiarize themselves with its unwritten rules.

Among those rewards are special Legendary Weapons and armor, an in-game currency, Cosmetic Gear, and most importantly: Gold. There are a few of these rewards up for grabs if players want to really get into it, but if they need a reason for completing the season pass, the extra upgrade materials to enhance their Legendary armor should be enough.

To get more Data Fragments to unlock the Gold rewards in the Animus Exchange, players should search the map for ‘Anomalies,’ which can be solved to get that currency and unlock more rewards in this season-pass-like system. All of them can be accessed through the Animus Hub, so keep a close eye on those rewards.

Looted From Enemy Camp Chests

While playing AC Shadows, players will eventually transition into higher-difficulty areas, where enemies become naturally stronger, and some enemy camps award even better loot and gear.

When scouring through enemy camps and castles, players will often come upon special chests containing valuable materials, and Gold is among the things that might be hidden inside those containers.

It is important to mention that Region Chests containing Legendary Gear do not have gold inside, and these do not refresh once the seasons pass. But, the good thing is these locations can be farmed, since chests respawn every season, giving players a chance to get their hands on valuable gear and extra chances to get more gold.
