Players can also push the limits in their Sims’ builds by getting creative with objects and cheats. They can create custom furniture for their builds without downloading cc or purchasing DLC. A bench swing is a cute and cozy addition to any Sim household, and players can use this guide to learn how to build one in The Sims 4.

How to Build a Bench Swing Set in The Sims 4
While there is a lot of furniture in the base game and DLC, players don’t have a bench swing set. The swing will not be functional, of course, but it will add a nice custom touch to a household.
Activate Cheats
Players will need to activate cheats before they can build the bench swing set. Players can open the cheat console using the following methods:
- CTRL/SHIFT/C (PC)
- Hold all four bumpers (Console)
Then, enter “testingcheats true” and hit enter. Players will see the message “cheats are enabled” if successful. Next, insert “bb.moveobjects on” into the cheat console and wait for the “MoveObjects cheat is ON” message.

With the correct cheats activated, follow the instructions below to build a bench swing set in The Sims 4:
- Open Build/Buy mode.
- Choose and place any bench where you want to build the swing set. It is best placed on a covered porch since it appears hanging.
- Raise the bench two spaces by selecting it and hitting the 9-key twice.
- Choose the “Festive Wall Light Extra Long” string lights. These will act as the rope/chains holding the bench.
- Change the size of the lights with the [ key (make it smaller) or the ] key (make it bigger) to fit the bench.
- Line up the lights on both sides of the bench. Players must remove any surrounding walls when placing the lights because they will automatically lock onto them. Once the lights are placed, the walls can be rebuilt
Any bench can be used, but wooden or outdoor benches can be more realistic. Once the bench is placed, players can add clutter objects, plants, or lights to make it look better. Free placing, changing the size, and raising/lowering objects are great techniques to make builds more unique.
It is a good idea to playtest the bench in Live Mode to ensure that Sims can sit on it.
Looking through all the different object skins for more options and styles is also a good way to make a build special without spending money or downloading CC.
