In Monster Hunter Wilds, there are dangerous monsters you will want to hunt called Guardians. These are beefed-up versions of other monsters, usually with the addition of some elemental attacks and slightly different movesets that can make them ultra-deadly.
One of these guardian monsters is the Guardian Fulgur Anjanath, which is an altered version of Anjanath, a returning monster in the Monster Hunter series. It is a thunder-element monster that will zap you with lightning bolts. It can be a very deadly hunt, but with a few tips, you should be able to down this beast before it can best you.

Guardian Fulgur Anjanath Moveset in Monster Hunter Wilds
Guardian Fulgur Anjanath has a few unique moves that can catch you off guard pretty easily, hitting you hard with the status ailment called Thunderblight. Getting to know these moves before you head into this fight can help you to down this monster much more easily.
Nose Hit
-
-
Guardian Fulgur Anjanath will swing its entire face at you, with its mouth closed, slamming into your body with its head. Before it takes a swing at you, it will bring its nose back towards its body, bringing its head down to hit you. In order to get out of the way, dodge underneath it or to the side that its head is not swinging toward.
Tail Sweep
-
-
It will look back at its behind, then take a swing with its massive tail. In order to get out of the way, you should roll underneath Guardian Fulgur Anjanath’s legs or roll backward depending on how close you are to the monster’s feet.
Butt Swing
-
-
Anjanath has the ability to swing its behind at you when you are in melee distance, smashing you with its thigh. Before it does this, Anjanath will pause, lifting its tail high in the air. It can hit you, then immediately turn around and try to bite you after. The best way to not take damage is to block this attack from this farmable MHW monster.
Bites
-
-
There are two different variations on this bite attack, and both will hit you hard with Thunder damage. Anjanath will first do a mini bite, which will be preceded by it sparking around its mouth, then opening its mouth and snapping down at you. After this move is complete, it will usually do a second, bigger bite that is also charged with Tunder. This bigger bite will cause Anjanath to stand up taller, then slam its mouth down onto the ground, creating an AOEof Thunderblight around it. The best way to avoid this attack is to get out of the way of its head, which usually involves rolling underneath it or away from it.
Tail Slam and Thunder Tail Slam
-
-
When you are in melee range, Anjanath can slam its butt down on you. There are two versions of this attack; it will either just lift its tail and slam it down, or it will stomp its foot first before slamming a Thunder-infused tail down. The Thunder tail slam has a small AOE, so you need to get further away from it. Dodging backwards is a good way to avoid both attacks.
Body Slam
-
-
If you are out of melee range, Anjanath can open its mouth, fill it with the MHW Thunder element, then jump forward, slamming its whole body down onto you. You can tell it’s coming when Anjanath opens its mouth, then quickly bends down and then back up again. Dodge left or right to get out of its path.
Thunderbolt
-
-
This is sort of this Thunder-monster’s version of a fireball. It will gather lightning around its mouth, then spit out a bolt of it at you. It will wiggle its head around at you before it does this attack, building a bolt in its mouth. You want to get to one side or behind the monster as quickly as possible by dodging, but the timing is kind of precise for this one.
