After accepting the mission, Xenoblade Chronicles X players should head northwest to reach Sickle Rock Rise. The position of that location is shown on the preceding map, and players can take these actions to automatically track it on their in-game maps:

  1. Press “+” and select Missions.
  2. Select the Normal Missions tab and highlight Welcome Back, Conner.
  3. Press “Y” to track the mission.

Players can quickly access the map in Xenoblade Chronicles X by pressing “Y” while exploring, making it easy to confirm that they are traveling in the right direction.

Upon arriving at the mission waypoint, players will find a very tall rock formation, and Conner is standing on top of it. To reach the character, players should head east from the waypoint, situating themselves on the east side of the oblong landmass that appears on the minimap. From this position, players should simply walk west to reach the top of the rock formation and find Conner.

The conversation with Conner reveals that he has dropped his comm device, and players must now fetch it from the Sayram Northeast Plain to the northwest. The position of this location is shown on the preceding map, and players can, once again, use the mission tracking feature to set an in-game waypoint.

As players draw near to the waypoint, they will see that it marks a position on top of a rock formation. To access that location, players should approach from the north, jumping up the cliff face as needed.

Players will now find that there are two high-level Grexes between them and Conner’s comm device, which materializes as a floating brown crystal. Fortunately, players can walk directly between those indigens without starting a fight, and they should come into contact with the crystal before running away.

Grexes are particularly docile during the day, and players who struggle to collect the comm device at night should wait for the sun to rise and then try again.
