Summary

  • Season 2 of Wednesday is highly anticipated, featuring a darker theme and new cast members.
  • Jenna Ortega’s return as a gloomy teen, along with cool Easter eggs, sets high expectations for the season.
  • Star Emma Myers prefers the upcoming season over the first, promising intriguing character arcs and development.

Even though the new season hasn’t premiered yet, Wednesday season 2 is setting the bar high for its return and fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for Jenna Ortega’s character as well as this season’s much darker theme. Although it’s not just viewers who are excited about the hit Netflix drama, as one of the stars of the series thinks that season 2 is better than Wednesday season one, ramping up the anticipation even further.

Following Wednesday‘s 2022 release, having to wait for over 2 years hasn’t been ideal for many fans who were left on a nailbiting cliffhanger that showed Ortega’s character receiving a text from an unknown number. The message included a slew of emojis that implied that she might have a stalker on her hands. With Ortega set to return to her usual gloomy and sarcastic teenage self, Wednesday season 2 will roll out the red carpet for new cast members that include Joanna Lumley, Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, Christopher Lloyd, and Lady Gaga. While Wednesday season 3’s future is still currently left in the dark, according to Jenna Ortega, there’s a lot to look forward to with its upcoming return that apparently includes some “cool Easter eggs”.

Wednesday Star Emma Myers Has a Lot of Faith for Season 2

Wednesday Fan Reveals Enid’s Hidden Real-World Werewolf Joke

Talking to ScreenRant about her role as Natalie in A Minecraft Movie, which also stars Jason Momoa, Jack Black, and Jennifer Coolidge and will be released on April 4, Emma Myers opened up about her returning role as Enid in Wednesday season 2, a werewolf student at Nevermore Academy who is also the roommate and best friend of Wednesday Addams. Myer disclosed that she prefers season 2 of the supernatural series over its first season, saying that she thinks “people are gonna be happy with the development”, as well as suggesting character arcs this time around will be intriguing.

“I like season 2 better than season 1, honestly. I think there’s a lot of cool little Easter eggs. I think everybody’s characters in this next season… I think people are gonna be happy with the development. Yeah, it’s a fun season. So I’m very excited for people to see it.”

Myers’ statement is certainly a strong one, given that Wednesday season 1 is one of the most successful series Netflix has ever produced and is responsible for bringing in over 1 billion viewing hours as of December 2022. Myers’ comment sets the bar high for season 2’s return in a completely grander way, with fans now expecting even more than what they got in the first season, which is an exciting prospect. We already know that season 2 will take a more sinister approach than before, and even include an episode inspired by classic slasher movies.

Filming for Wednesday Season 2 wrapped up in Ireland on December 4, 2024, and its return is expected to premiere sometime in 2025.
