In case you missed it, Digimon Con 2025 was held overnight in Japan, with a near-three-hour presentation dedicated to all things Digimon. Among the notable announcements is the fact that a mobile version of the TCG, named Digimon Alysion, is making its way to phones.
Not only that, but a new anime will also be debuting in 2025 in the form of Digimon Beatbreak. It’ll be the first new Digimon anime in roughly three years.

Of course, we’d be remiss if we didn’t discuss Digimon Story: Time Stranger, the upcoming video game set for a 2025 release. The title, which was originally revealed during PlayStation’s State of Play, received a wealth of new details during the online convention, including the sheer number of Digimon that will be available.
It’s A Digimon Party!
First and foremost, the game will boast more than 450 Digimon to train. That number is up from 250 in Cyber Sleuth and 330 in Hacker’s Memory, giving Time Stranger the largest roster to date.
As detailed by Gematsu, players will take the role of either Dan Yuki or Kanan Yuki, both of whom are agents of a special investigation bureau named ADAMAS and have been sent back in time by eight years via a mysterious explosion. From there, players will select one of three Digimon: Patamon, Gomamon or DemiDevimon.
With respect to the story, the protagonist will be tasked with finding a way to prevent the world’s collapse. Whichever protagonist is not selected becomes the player’s Operator or instruction giver. The story will take place both in the Human and Digital World, with the Human side of things being centered in Shinjuku and Akihabara.
In a closing note shared by Ryosuke Hara, the producer thanked fans for waiting as long as they have for the latest game. Cyber Sleuth was released in 2015 and Hacker’s Memory in 2017, making the wait quite long. “We hope that this will satisfy not only our long-time fans, but also newcomers who have yet to experience the Digimon video games,” Hara said. Here’s hoping Hara is correct.
