Her appearance is inspired by streamers and content creators, and she is recognized for her pastel blue and pink hair, oversized jacket, and Magnemite-shaped hair clips that can mimic her various emotions, such as confusion and excitement. In the physical Pokemon Trading Card Game, Iono’s first appearance was in the Paldea Evolved set as a Trainer-type Supporter card. Her card’s effect forced players to shuffle their hands, place them at the bottom of their decks, and draw cards equal to their remaining Prize card amounts.

First reported by ComicBook, Iono will join Pokemon TCG Pocket on Thursday, March 27, as part of the Shining Revelry booster set. Although the expansion will focus on shiny Pokemon and Paldean critters, new Trainer Cards like Red and Iono will join the fray. Compared to the physical card, Iono’s effect in Pokemon TCG Pocket will be a simpler variant. Both players will shuffle their hands into their decks, and then draw as many cards as were just shuffled in. Players can only play one Trainer Card per turn. However, using Iono at the right moment can give some decks that rely on Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokemon or specific cards an advantage.

Reddit user Ilikecheese216 stated that Iono’s effect was comparable to the original Professor Oak card from the Pokemon TCG‘s early days. In the Base set, Professor Oak’s effect allowed its user to discard their hand and then draw seven cards, making it effective for card-milling strategies. While some Pokemon fans debated Iono’s usage cases, others agreed that her card could be used to recover from a bad opening hand.
