By now, fans have seen quite a lot of Gear 5 in One Piece and it is clear to see that this ability is, truly, the most ridiculous in One Piece. Although the stretching and shrinking power is truly amazing, the best part of Gear 5 is the limitless imagination. To be more precise, Luffy can do whatever he wants in this form. If he wants to run in midair, he can do it as long as he can imagine it.

If he wants to create a pair of goggles, he can very well do it out of nowhere. As seen when he fought against the Elders, Luffy can even create a baseball helmet and paint a bat out of absolutely nowhere. Whatever he can imagine himself doing, he can do.
