  • The iconic map is set to make its return on April 3 after a three-and-a-half-year absence.
  • Season 3 is also expected to see iconic Modern Warfare weapons and operators return.

Call of Duty: Warzone has officially unveiled the tac-map for Verdansk, the fan-favorite Battle Royale map that is set to return next month after a three-and-a-half-year absence. Verdansk was the first map to debut alongside Call of Duty: Warzone back in 2020 but was eventually replaced by Caldera in December 2021 with Season 1 of Call of Duty: Vanguard. Now, with Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on the horizon, fans are gearing up to go home.

From Verdansk to Urzikstan, Call of Duty: Warzone has seen multiple Battle Royale maps come and go in its five-year existence, but arguably none have ever compared to its original map. The launch of Caldera was bug-ridden, glitchy, and a huge disappointment for fans who, at the time, were looking for something fresh. Then came along Al Mazrah and Urzikstan, which were a massive improvement over their predecessor but were still largely forgettable. After years of fan requests and a dwindling player count, Activision finally confirmed that Verdansk would be returning to Call of Duty: Warzone with Season 3 on April 3. Now, with just two weeks left to go, the studio is revealing more and more details weekly.

Call of Duty: Warzone Unveils New Verdansk Tac-Map

With the return of Verdansk fast approaching, Activision has taken to Twitter to unveil its official tac-map for Season 3. There have been various leaks and rumors in recent months surrounding which version of Verdansk would be returning, but now Activision has solidified precisely which points of interest will be making their comeback next month. Fans will be pleased to know that all of the map’s most iconic drop points, including Superstore, Downtown, Stadium, and many more, will be back in their original form come April 3. The tac-map also confirms previous leaks that Stadium’s roof will remain closed, as it was during its earlier seasons, but official details surrounding the location’s interior remain unknown.

After the massive success of Fortnite OG in 2023, Epic Games opted to bring the mode back permanently a year later. With plenty of other live-service titles following in Fortnite‘s footsteps, many Call of Duty fans have been wondering if Verdansk is here to stay. The good news is that a reliable leaker has indicated that the map will continue to evolve after Warzone Season 3. According to TheGhostOfHope, Activision is reportedly planning to update Verdansk “throughout Black Ops 6 seasons and beyond” as the studio is eager to keep players engaged with the title.

Very few details about Call of Duty Season 3 are known as of writing, but Activision did seemingly confirm the return of a few iconic Modern Warfare weapons in a new video. There have long been rumors of weapons such as the Grau 5.56, Kilo, and AMAX making a return alongside Verdansk, and while Activision hasn’t outright announced their return, some of the weapons were spotted in a recent Warzone video. Leakers have also claimed that multiple operators from the Modern Warfare reboot will be returning in Season 3, including the incredibly controversial Roze operator skin. Fans will likely need to wait until the full Season 3 breakdown to find out if there is any truth to these rumors.
