Assassin’s Creed Shadows is all about traveling around Japan and conquering any obstacles and challenges that cross your path, including forts and castles. These areas, like Mibuno Castle in Iga, offer opportunities to hunt down Samurai Daisho, find keys to guarded doors, and claim a myriad of rewards from various side chests.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Will Now Come To Steam Deck At Launch

Ubisoft has reversed its decision about a Steam Deck version at launch.

You can approach these areas as either Yasuke or Noae and while Yasuke’s strength-first style makes it a matter of endurance and combat to finish these locations, we’ll be focusing on a stealth approach with Noae. Furthermore, we’ll also offer a method to stealth kill each Samurai Daisho in Mibuno Castle.

Where Is Mibuno Castle?

Mibuno Castle is located in the northwestern section of Mibuno Vale, tucked away in Iga. Follow the path north from the Mibuno Kakurega fast travel point to get here quickly.

You’ll arrive at the castle by heading up a small hill leading up to the front gates. Approach the area head-on and make your way to the large tower on the right-hand side of the entrance to get a better view of your prey.

How To Find & Assassinate The First Samurai Daisho

From the top of the guard tower, you’ll spot the first Samurai Daisho in the courtyard with a guard kneeling. The best way to silently assassinate him is by jumping down from the building behind him while keeping a crouched posture.

Sneak up behind him and kill the first Daisho, immediately following up with another assassination on the guard who was reporting to him. However, it’s possible you will not be able to fully deplete the Daisho’s HP bar, so prepare for a fight.

Sabotage the alert bell to the left of the building behind the Daisho to avoid triggering a Wanted status.

How To Find & Assassinate The Second Samurai Daisho

Backtrack toward the front, and you’ll find the second Daisho in a lower courtyard in the southwesternmost corner of Mibuno Castle, standing in the watch tower to the left of the entrance you came in from.

Given that the Daisho is looking out at the distance, the best method for silently assassinating him is to get up the tower and finish the job before anyone notices you.

Approach from the lower area along the path without a spiked fence and toss a Shinobi Bell to redirect two guards to look the opposite way while you head to the hay bale, then pick off the closest one while inside.

Use bells to attract one guard at a time until the courtyard is cleared out; the Samurai Daisho won’t notice you picking off each guard as long as you keep the kills silent. Next, head up the ladder and assassinate the second Daisho.

What Rewards Do You Get From Mibuno Castle?

With the two Samurai Daisho defeated, you can claim the rest of the excellent rewards in Mibuno Castle.

The rest of the area is still guarded by soldiers, so if you want to get through the area quickly to grab the loot and leave, you can switch to Yasuke outside the walls, and then go back inside.

Side Loot

Here is where you can find the best side loot, including a key in Mibuno Castle.

  • Key: in the northernmost areas of Mibuno Castle, you’ll find a small house with a Samurai who has the key inside the room. This is the Mibuno Fort Kura Key.
  • Door: This key opens a door to a shed in the northeasternmost section of the castle, which contains more resources to smuggle as well as wood and cosmetics. Loot the other chest in the Mibuno Key room for resources and Mon.
  • Additional Loot:
    • Just outside the room that was unlocked by the key, there is another small house next to a tree, with resources to smuggle and other loot.
    • Left of the entrance, in the courtyard to the northwest, there’s a building with three chests to loot: one outside, one on the roof, and one on the main floor.
    • You can also find two more sets of resources to Smuggle in the northwestern corner room and the house adjacent to it.

There are a few other smaller chests littered throughout the area if you want to weave through guards, but there’s not much else here.

Legendary Chest

In the building behind where you killed the first Daisho in the western section of the castle, you’ll find the red Legendary Treasure chest with the following rewards:

  • Minogame’s Protection Legendary Trinket
  • An Engraving
  • 3,000 Exp
  • Two Mastery points

You’ve cleared everything you could want from Mibuno Castle.
