God of War Ragnarok update 6.02 is now available, expanding the game with a variety of cosmetics and one new feature. This is the second God of War Ragnarok patch to debut in 2025.
The latest entry in Sony Santa Monica’s long-running franchise was released for PlayStation consoles in November 2022 before making its way to PC in September 2024. The game has received 17 patches since first hitting the market, with one of the most recent of the lot being God of War Ragnarok update 6.01, which rolled out back in January 2025.

God of War Ragnarok is set to receive a big update next week that’ll include some exciting new content for fans of the Greek games.
Another patch has now materialized on March 20, arriving just two days ahead of the God of War series‘ 20th anniversary. Identified by version number 6.02, this release introduces a variety of cosmetics inspired by the older entries in the franchise, all with the goal of commemorating the upcoming jubilee. The new items arrive in the form of the Dark Odyssey Collection, which features black and gold armor for Kratos, including a breastplate, belt, and a pair of braces. Freya and Atreus have also received matching outfits as part of the newly debuted patch.
Besides armor, the Dark Odyssey Collection includes gold and black skins for Kratos’s weapons, specifically the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos, and Draupnir Spear. Several weapon attachments, like the Leviathan Axe Knob, have also received alternate looks as part of the 6.02 update. Half a dozen shields and the Rönd attachment were given the Dark Odyssey treatment as well.
In order to unlock these GoW 2-inspired cosmetics, players will need to complete God of War Ragnarok on the God Mode difficulty. Doing so will require learning pretty much all the enemies’ moves, as the game’s highest difficulty level features tight parrying windows while simultaneously insisting on players deflecting most damage due to how hard everything hits. Another challenge in tackling this difficulty is the lack of checkpoints during boss fights, forcing players to defeat the game’s toughest foe without making any major mistakes.
The Dark Odyssey Collection appearances are reserved for the ultimate versions of supported weapons, shields, armors, and attachments, requiring God of War Ragnarok players to fully upgrade any piece of equipment they want to customize. On a related note, the 6.02 update also introduces an “Edit Appearance” feature for weapon and shield attachments. This addition is essentially a transmog system, allowing players to mix and match between different equipment visuals and functionalities. The March 2025 patch was released simultaneously on the PS4, PS5, and PC.
