Many WWE 2K25 players wish that they could equip any clothing item to any created wrestler, regardless of gender. The latest WWE 2K game is now out in the wild, and with it the classic character creation suite that has been a part of the series since the beginning. In WWE 2K25, creating a custom wrestler is required for the MyRise and new Island gameplay modes, but of course players can and have pieced together their own original grapplers for fun.
Whether it’s crafting the ultimate sports entertainer from the group up or recreating classic WWE superstars like the Hardy Boys or Kane, WWE 2K25 offers up a fair amount of freedom in its character creation suite. Like with past installments, WWE 2K25 also has a Community Creations page that lets players upload and share their Custom Superstars with the rest of the gaming community, leading to a vast library of classic wrestlers and original creations alike.

However, WWE 2K25’s character creation suite still has a few areas that fans feel could be improved, including arbitrary restrictions on what can be equipped to a particular superstar. Certain articles of clothing are inexplicably locked to a certain gender, much to the annoyance of players like Reddit user IndianTaco42069. In a post on r/WWEGames, they expressed frustration at not being able to select a particular pair of pants for a female WWE 2K25 Superstar, leading to other users complaining about how absurd this is for a mode that supposedly allows players to customize a character however they see fit.

What makes this restriction even more puzzling is that not everything is locked by gender, as many WWE 2K25 players point out that hairstyles are rarely locked in this manner. Some have theorized that this might be a simple case of the developers at Visual Concepts not getting to model and rig the clothing items in question to both male and female-presenting body types. Nonetheless, it is something that many WWE 2K25 players would like to see corrected in a future update patch.
This is also far from the only complaint fans have about WWE 2K25. Many eagle-eyed players have spotted strange spelling errors on the outfits of certain WWE 2K25 wrestlers, though some of them have since been corrected in updates. The new Island mode has also divided players due to its microtransactions and being tied to a local save file that could lead to lost progress should the player’s data be corrupted somehow. Despite all this, WWE 2K25 stands as one of the highest-rated entries in the series, even though reviews on Steam have been mixed since the game launched earlier this month.
