Where to Get Expedition Headgear Tickets in Monster Hunter Wilds

There’s almost always a couple of in-game events going on in Monster Hunter Wilds, and while some reward players with resources, others give away special materials that can be used to make equipment. Expedition Headgear Tickets are one such type of material, and they can be obtained fairly easily.

If the events of the previous Monster Hunter games are anything to go by, players can expect the ones in Wilds to become more challenging down the line. For now, as far as Expedition Headgear Tickets are concerned, there’s very little to worry about. Here’s how to get this special material.

How to Farm Expedition Headgear Tickets in MH Wilds

MH Wilds Like a Fire Hidden by Sand quest

Players can get Expedition Headgear Tickets by completing the Like A Fire Hidden By Sand event, a limited-time quest that involves hunting a High Rank Rathian in Windward Plains. There are no special conditions or quirks involved in this quest — just get out there, fight the Rathian, and repeat until you’re satisfied.

Expedition Headgear Tickets are given only once the quest is complete. For a faster and easier time, we strongly recommend capturing the Rathian once skulls start appearing above the monster’s icon on the minimap. This won’t necessarily increase the amount of rewards you get, but you’ll cut off a solid minute or two depending on how low the monster’s health.

While event quests run only for a limited time, they will become available again eventually.

How to Use Expedition Headgear Tickets

These tickets are used to craft the eponymous Expedition Headgear helmet, which appears to be a pair of ear ornaments. To craft it, you’ll need the following materials:

  • 3 Expedition Headgear
  • 4 Rathian Scale+
  • 2 Monster Keenbone
  • 1 Novacrystal

The Expedition Headgear Alpha is a Rarity 5 armor piece with a Level 1 decoration slot as well as the Coalescence and Blight Resistance skills. The latter two won’t do much on their own, but if you can max them out, they’re excellent skills for balancing DPS and comfort.

However, the Level 1 decoration slot does limit build options here, as players won’t be able to fit important Level 3 jewels like Tenderizer for the Weakness Exploit skill.

If all you want is the Expedition Headgear’s appearance, you can apply it to your other helmets by using MH Wilds’ transmog feature. All you need to do is craft any High Rank armor piece, and you’ll be able to use their appearances on top of your actual armor without compromising your stats and decoration slots.
