Though you’ve got plenty of frog breeding and mushroom cultivating to worry about in Mudborne, it’s still important to keep in mind where to find the different kinds of flowers! All the flora in the ponds are critical to the balance of the ecosystem, with different bugs preferring different plants.
This includes several types of flowers, with each region of the map in Mudborne having its own type of flower (and bugs that spawn there by proxy). Catching different kinds of bugs is critical to raising different kinds of tadpoles, so here’s where to find all the flowers bugs like.
What Are Flowers For?
There are plenty of plants growing around the different areas of the pond you’re exploring and trying to revitalize in Mudborne, and while not all of them are exactly desirable in the quantities they appear, you’ll come to rely on the flora around your pond, since certain bug species require specific greenery to spawn. While you’ll find a variety of bugs around the area, especially with other plants like lily pads and reeds in the water, there are plenty of species like certain butterflies that only spawn near flowers.
When catching bugs, you’ll often catch the flower as well. Like trees and other greenery, this produces a packet of seeds that allows you to replant any flowers you’ve picked, since you’ll want to encourage those bugs to come back. That said, by catching the flowers and their seeds, you can always replant them in a more convenient location on their native map to encourage those bugs to spawn someplace closer to where you spend your time. Once picked, you can replant flowers anywhere you like, provided the growing location like water or grass matches the native location.
But it’s not just the bugs that will have you wanting to pay attention to the flowers around the pond – you’ll also use them to trade with Annura for a variety of items, some optional and some absolutely essentially to progressing the story in Mudborne. Things like Heaters and Coolers are critical to progressing through the Climate Control region when used with frogs that have the right stats, while other items like frog furniture designs and assorted sizes of storage are left to your discretion.
