Biggs Darklighter, They’ll Never Stop Us

A Multi-Purpose Pilot

Putting a pilot on a vehicle will give it a buff. Biggs Darklighter, They’ll Never Stop Us has three different buffs depending on the type of vehicle you attach him as a pilot to. This card is also incredibly cheap as it can get on a ship while only using up one resource.

If Biggs is attached to a Fighter, that vehicle is granted Overwhelm. Transports get one additional health, and Speeders get the keyword, Grit. It’s an easy card to bring out when you need the power boost to help you lock on target as soon as possible.

Iden Versio, Adapt Or Die

Get A Shield Token

If you want to give one of your vehicles a Shield token, then Iden Versio, Adapt or Die can get it done. For three resources, you can slap her onto one of your vehicles to boost both stats by three and gain the token.

Being able to put a Shield on one of your biggest vehicles is a power move that forces your opponent to think twice about attacking. Sure, they can throw another vehicle at you, but in the end, they lose a unit, and you take no damage from that fight.

Boba Fett, Feared Bounty Hunter

Transports Beware

Boba Fett is the king of hunting down ships for a bounty. When it comes to handling transport vehicles, Boba Fett, Feared Bounty Hunter gets a little extra kick to his attacks. This pilot can get on a ship as soon as you have two resources.

On any other vehicle, you can immediately do one damage to any unit you want. However, if you attach this card as a pilot to a Transport vehicle, then you can chip away at your opponent with two damage instead.

The Mandalorian, Weathered Pilot

A Flexible Exhaust

Many pilots in Jump to Lightspeed are best played as upgrades. However, there are some where the stats for playing them as a ground unit can be a decent option later in the game. As a ground unit, The Mandalorian, Weathered Pilot can come out at five resources with some decent stats at the cost of some exhausts.

On the other hand, only needing two resources to use him as a pilot gives you a good boost early in the game for some aggressive pushes on your opponent. In addition to this lower upgrade cost, you can exhaust one of your enemy’s units.

L3-37, Get Out Of My Seat

From Unit To Vehicle

Ejecting from the cockpit to save your unit is one thing, but L3-37, Get Out Of My Seat can eject itself the other way around. Play this card as a ground unit, and if L3-37 is defeated, you can immediately place her as an upgrade on a vehicle of your choice.

Of course, she loses any upgrades you may have used on her, but she gets a clean bill of health when becoming an upgrade herself. So, if you plan to have plenty of unmanned vehicles in play, this card can get a second chance to shine.

Multiple Pilots In One Ship

R2-D2 is a funny little droid that has been present throughout the entirety of the Star Wars series. In Jump to Lightspeed, he can get into one of your ships as a pilot to give it a little stat boost. He also does this for free.

Unlike other pilots, R2-D2 can hop onto a vehicle with a pilot already attached to it. This allows you to attach yet another pilot to that ship. This can be a good way of stacking buffs and abilities of multiple pilots to your favorite ship.

Luke Skywalker, You Still With Me?

Ejecting Luke To The Ground

Most pilots in Star Wars Unlimited will go down with the ship. So if the ship dies, so does the upgrade. However, Luke Skywalker, You Still With Me, continues the fight by ejecting himself from whatever vehicle he is currently in if it takes too much damage.

This gives you another body on the board to protect your base with. So it’s not all doom and gloom when you watch your vehicles go down. Luke also gives a stat buff equal to his own base stats, so regardless, you’re getting an additional three power and two health somewhere on the board.

Han Solo, Has His Moments

The Greatest Pair In The Galaxy

A fun thing you can do in Star Wars Unlimited is pairing pilots with their signature vehicles. Han Solo, Has His Moments rewards you for it by instantly letting you attack if you used him to upgrade a Millennium Falcon.

Being able to damage your opponent’s unit before they can deal damage to you has its perks. If you defeat your opponent’s unit in this preemptive strike, you won’t take any damage in return. As a ground unit, Han Solo even has Ambush, allowing him to strike fast even out of his ship.

Strong On Two Fronts

Darth Vader was once one of the greatest pilots in the galaxy, Anakin Skywalker. Some skills don’t fade away, as this Darth Vader is fearsome in the cockpit and on the ground. If you use him as a ground unit, you have a massive unit with both stats at seven.

As a pilot, Darth Vader, Scourge of Squadrons upgrades your vehicle by three on each stat while also dishing out additional damage each time you choose to attack. If this one digit of damage manages to defeat a unit, you also get a hit on your opponent’s base.

When Chewbacca, Faithful First Mate hits the field, you’ve officially entered Chewy World. All your focus is going to have to go to this pilot; because if you let him remain undefeated, he will become really annoying real fast.

As a pilot, Chewbacca makes whatever vehicle you upgrade with him impenetrable. This means no returning it to the hand or defeating it with a card’s effect. Once on the field, it demands a response. This usually means tackling it head-on at the expense of a few fallen units.
