The Infested arsenal of weapons have received a major update in Warframe’s

Technocyte Coda update. Infested Liches are now available in 1999 content, awarding you with a valuable currency when slain. Bring this currency to Eleanor, and you can get your hands on Coda weapons, mutated variants of some iconic Infested weapons.

Not many players know of the Sporothrix, mostly due to the weapon’s absurd rarity. The Coda version is not only stronger than the standard variant, but it’s also much easier to get. Today, we’ll be looking at how to craft the Sporothrix, explain how the weapon works, and showcase some strong builds that can handle endgame Steel Path content.

How To Craft The Sporothrix

Warframe Sporothrix Parts

The base Sporothrix comes from Isolation Vaults in Deimos. Your bounty tier will dictate which part will be in the loot pool. This weapon’s components have abysmal drop rates—most parts drop in the 3-6 percent range, including Rotation C drops. If you can help it, get the Coda version instead; it’s much easier to farm for. Components for the base Sporothrix are also tradeable, but don’t expect other players to be selling these parts for cheap.

Fortunately, there’s a better variant called the Coda Sporothrix, which you can get from

Technocyte Coda
Liches in Warframe 1999 content. The Coda version features higher base damage, a progenitor damage bonus, and slightly more status chance. If you’re looking to get the Sporothrix, killing a Coda Lich and buying the Coda variant from Eleanor is a significantly better use of your time.

The Sporothrix is an explosive sniper rifle that fires barbed projectiles that detonate after a short delay. Nearly all of its damage comes from the projectile itself, although it has an extremely high status chance and inherent Viral damage with its AoE explosion, making it a solid status primer. Due to its small blast radius, it’s ill-advised to use (Primed) Firestorm on this weapon.

This weapon gains +50% headshot damage while zoomed in.

You can make the Sporothrix’s explosion effect much stronger with the Volatile Variant augment mod, which you can find in the rotating Nightwave shop. This gives the Sporothrix inherent punch through, makes the barbed projectile explode on contact, and adds an extra four meters of blast radius to its on-hit explosion. Throw on some status mods on this weapon, and you have a monstrous primary weapon for status damage.

Similar to the Nukor, the Sporothrix can also be turned into a monstrous DPS weapon if you can give this weapon sources of additive critical chance—Arcane Avenger, Harrow’s Covenant, Ripper’s Wail from Temple, et cetera. Due to this weapon’s absurd critical multiplier, you can make the Sporothrix hit for millions per shot if you give it any form of additive critical chance. Keep this in mind when planning your loadout.

Best Sporothrix Builds

Warframe Harrow Holding Sporothrix

We’ll be looking at two builds for the Sporothrix today, both of which can handle Steel Path content without much issue. Due to the scarcity of the original variant’s components, we’ll only be using the Coda variant in the loadouts below. If you don’t own the Volatile Variant mod, feel free to use another damage mod in its place.

None of the builds we’ll be showcasing today require the use of a Riven mod, but they can prove useful if you’re lucky enough to get a strong one. Keep an eye out for multishot, critical damage, fire rate, and base damage.

Coda Sporothrix

Our standard Sporothrix build is focused on making this a strong status primer and damage hybrid. We suggest you run Primary Merciless and Serration to scale your base damage as much as possible. If you want even more base damage, you can drop Cryo Rounds and Serration for Galvanized Aptitude instead.

The rest of the build is fairly standard. Galvanized Chamber for some much-need multishot, (Primed) Cryo Rounds with Thermite Rounds

to make Blast
, Radiated Reload for extra Radiation damage and a free reload speed boost, and another element of your choice. If you aren’t speccing from critical hits and need a solid sniper, this won’t let you down.

Endgame Build (Three Forma)

Variant

Coda Sporothrix

This version of the Sporothrix build focuses on scaling our base damage, critical damage, and status chance. We first install the Volatile Variant mod to make the weapon’s AoE explosions much more forgiving, allowing you to prime clusters of enemies with each shot. You’ll still want Galvanized Chamber for multishot and three elemental mods to scale your elemental damage.

For the rest of your mods, run Galvanized Aptitude to scale your base damage. While this won’t affect your AoE damage, it makes your direct shots significantly stronger. Vital Sense and Hammer Shot will then scale your critical damage, allowing you to hit a whopping 8.4x multiplier when paired with Tenacious Bond from your companion.

Landing critical hits with this weapon will require some loadout planning. We highly recommend using Arcane Avenger on your Warframe and the Combat Discipline aura. Killing a target will damage you, which can then proc Arcane Avenger’s 45 percent critical chance bonus. If you need more critical chance, consider playing Harrow or Temple.
