While there are countless items to buy in R.E.P.O., some new players might be overwhelmed with the multitude of upgrades and weapons that can aid them – but they also need to be warned of the items that are going to be useless and essentially end up being a total waste of money that nobody should buy.

REPO: All Items & How to Use Them
The store in REPO offers many items, including weapons and upgrades. Here’s a list of all items and instructions on how to use them.
With so many items to purchase in the store for R.E.P.O., it’s going to be apparent that players need to maximize their money to buy the best possible upgrades, and most certainly avoid the items listed below as they fail to benefit players in the early game runs.
1
Sledge Hammer
A Heavy Weapon to Eradicate Monsters at the Cost of Weight
The Sledge Hammer is a beast of a weapon in terms of size and damage, as it will easily make monsters rue the day they try to destroy the friendly robots who just want to scavenge for loot. However, the Sledge Hammer also suffers from the fact that it’s absurdly heavy and hard to swing, especially in narrow corridors, so attacking monsters that are fast might be an issue.
Players should spend this money on alternatives, like Grenades, as they’re far cheaper than a Sledge Hammer that can easily destroy loot and kill allies that are within the vicinity of a swing, especially with the unpredictable physics that might make players miss anyway.
2
Gun
A Highly Unreliable Gun to Shoot Monsters
The Gun might seem like a staple item to purchase, but in actuality, it should probably be left in the store for another day. The Gun is fun, as it has around 5 shots to fire before it needs recharging, but each of these shots is more than likely going to miss because of the absurdly random bullet spread that will see players struggle to hit even one of five.
Even extreme sharpshooters might struggle to get their shots in with this weapon, and it’s just going to result in a messy time, especially for players who get close to an enemy thinking they can pull the trigger and drop them, only for them to miss or withstand the low damage which results in the player’s demise.
3
Stun Mine
Flies Towards Entities to Electrify and Attack
The Stun Mine certainly has an electric bite to it, as activating it will see it armed and deployed, where once it’s up and running, it will seek out a target to bite and latch onto. This is more trouble than it’s worth, as more often than not, players are going to be the victim of this inexpensive weapon.

If players are attacked by it, then it’s only going to deal 5 damage per hit, but it’s still rather annoying to be repeatedly electrocuted and stunned to the point where they cannot move, and in the immobile state, an enemy is going to see the player as easy prey.
4
Rubber Duck
The Unpredictable and Extremely Explosive Bath Toy
The Rubber Duck is another explosive weapon with great potential in terms of damage and hilarity, as it’s a duck that can be thrown to bounce around the map and explode afterward for a few times more, leaving the area a true chaos zone of quacking rubber duckies that have an affinity for explosions.
The damage isn’t all that great, the item is pretty expensive, and chaos might cause the rubber duck itself to bounce into a room with loot, or even worse, into the C.A.R.T. to destroy precious valuables. As such, it’s best to avoid the mayhem of the Rubber Duck.
5
Zero Gravity Drone
Jump Higher and Fall Slower
The Zero Gravity Drone provides players with a useful item that can suspend items in the air, allowing players to deploy the Zero Gravity Drone and drop an item from above so that this item can catch it. However, with multiple players, this isn’t necessary, nor is it necessary with Strength Upgrades and Range Upgrades, as players can safely drop items to the ground from above.
Being able to jump higher to try and reach difficult spots could be nice, but it’s also not worth it when other players can simply grab you and push you up to where you want to go, thus making this tool somewhat useless in the long run.
6
Indestructible Drone
Stop Items from Being Destroyed
The Indestructible Drone is activated to make sure that expensive items cannot be destroyed. While active, the item that has been highlighted by this Indestructible Drone will be secured, ensuring that knocking it or dropping it will not decrease the value of the item, or in the worst case – break so that an abundance of money is lost.

These games provide an immersive and thrilling experience for groups of players thanks to the in-game proximity chat.
Considering some larger items are so valuable, it might seem like a good idea to spend a few thousand on this item, but at the end of the day, so long as players have a competent team behind them, they’re not going to need to rely on this drone at all.
7
C.A.R.T.
Players Already Have One, So Why Get Two?
The C.A.R.T. is a free spawn upon arriving at every level, and it’s always waiting by the first extraction point for players to use. Sure, this is essential for easily carrying a hefty amount of items around the level, especially with its cushioned interior to allow players to drop items inside without worrying about losing value, but it’s also the only one they need.
Players can purchase additional carts for over $40K, but what’s the point? In larger lobbies, sure, maybe split up and look for loot, but the one C.A.R.T. will get the job done for smaller lobbies, even in higher levels when there is an abundance of loot and extraction points.
8
Valuable Detector
Scan for Valuables with Ease
The Valuable Detector does just as the item says it will, and it will detect valuables once players equip it and scan a room. It’s nice to scan rooms and know if everything has been collected, but when players have the radar and plenty of robots running around to double-check every corner and shelf, it becomes a bit useless.
There’s not much point in carrying around this item just to scan for some valuables that are probably already in the C.A.R.T., and it’s not like it’s easy to miss larger valuable items when they are so big and in the way, so without this item, players might miss a diamond or two, but it’s nothing to worry about.
