Pokemon Fan Crochets Tropius

A Pokemon fan has used their skills in crocheting to create an impressive Tropius doll, impressing the Reddit community. The Pokemon franchise includes numerous creature designs, and some of these can make for excellent crochet projects, as this Tropius doll showcases.

Taking place in the Hoenn region, the Gen 3 Pokemon games included some classic creatures. Among those was Tropius, a Grass/Flying-type with a striking design. Specifically, the Pokemon has a dinosaur-like body and features a long neck. This physical characteristic is also reminiscent of a tree, with its body featuring giant leaves and fruit hanging below its neck. While Tropius does not have any evolutions, that has not stopped it from becoming popular with some fans.

Recently, one artist known as MikaD0000 showed off their love for Tropius by making a crochet version of the Pokemon. As seen in the images, the creator included all the important details of the Pokemon’s design in the crochet doll. For example, the incredibly long neck and its banana-like fruit hanging below its head were present in the design. In addition, MikaD0000 nailed the coloration of the Tropius, making the body primarily brown with the leaves a vibrant green. While they did not say how long the doll took to make, the final product suggested a lot of time was necessary to finish the project.

Pokemon Fan’s Impressive Crochet Tropius

Many fans on the Pokemon subreddit have upvoted the design, complementing the artist on the impressive design. Over the years, MikaD0000 has amassed quite a following thanks to their crocheting skills. Beyond this Tropius doll, the artist has made crochet versions of other Pokemon. Their list of completed projects is notable, with Exeggutor, Vanilluxe, and Gyarados only a few examples of their past work. In addition, they have shared projects on Reddit featuring other popular video games and media, such as Marvel Rivals and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Beyond crochet projects from MikaD0000, many Pokemon fans have been creating fan art based on the series. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A expected to launch later this year, some have used the upcoming game as inspiration for projects. For example, custom Mega evolution designs for Pokemon have been shared with the community, imagining what these forms of various pocket monsters could look like in the game.

It will be interesting to see if MikaD0000 draws inspiration from Pokemon Legends: Z-A and the Kalos region for future crocheting projects. Given the artist’s past work, whatever they come up with next is likely to impress.
