There are some anime that never seem to go out of style, and one of those is Naruto Shippuden. This internationally beloved shōnen title is getting a new themed cafe in the city of Kyoto, Japan. The Naruto cafe will have plenty of collaborative goods, food, and drinks, all themed after this well-known anime. It is also opening just in time for spring in Japan, and the blooming of the famous cherry blossom trees, which the cafe has also taken into account with its designs.
The new Naruto cafe in Kyoto will operate from March 20th to April 13th, so just for a limited time, much like the cherry blossoms themselves. The cafe was announced on the Japanese news website PR Times, which gave details of the full menu along with a sneak peek at the exclusive goods that will be available for sale at the cafe. The Naruto cafe will be hosted by Maeda Coffee, one of the oldest coffee shops in Kyoto, and will be available at five of the shop’s locations.

Kishimoto reveals why he added a timeskip in Naruto. Here’s his reason.
All the Themed Food and Drinks
As with all collaboration cafes in Japan, the food and drinks on the menu of the Naruto cafe have been carefully planned to follow the anime’s theme. Because the Naruto cafe is being hosted in an existing traditional Japanese coffee shop, the menu has also been curated to not seem out of place in that kind of setting. The food and drinks that are available are similar to the kind of fare you would find in Maeda Coffee anyway, but with a special anime twist.
The highlight of the menu is the Naruto Shippuden pound cake, which includes a biscuit shaped like many of the characters’ forehead protectors. It also comes with a tiny tube of chocolate icing, so you can draw your favorite design onto the protector. There is also Naruto Uzumaki’s Pocket Sandwich, which is a small sandwich with spiral-cut ham on the top, inspired by the character’s family name of “Uzumaki,” which means “spiral” in Japan (and is famous thanks to Junji Ito’s famous story). Finally, there is a special cream soda called Minato’s Rasengan soda, a blue soda decorated with a small cut out of Minato.
These three main menu items are available at all five of Maeda Coffee’s locations, and each location also has at least one more exclusive menu item. These include things like Sakura’s shiratama anmitsu parfait (a traditional Japanese dessert with chewy mochi and red beans), Sasuke’s rice ball set, Kakashi and Pakkun’s cream puffs, and Shikamaru’s mackarel sandwich. Each of these items is inspired by the character it is named after, and most have a small decorative picture of the character somewhere on the dish as well.

Exclusive Naruto Cafe Merchandise
The Only Place to Get These Goods
In addition to the different food and drinks available at the Naruto cafe, there are some very exclusive goods that can only be purchased (or received) at the cafe. For starters, all items ordered from the collaboration menu come with one of ten random character coasters, each of which has artwork of one main character from Naruto Shippuden, cherry blossoms, and the name of the anime and Maeda Coffee. The more menu items you order, the more of these coasters you can collect.
The other merchandise that is available for purchase also has the characters along with the cherry blossom designs special for the limited cafe. These include pins, acrylic standees, postcards, character clips, hand towels, and more. Most of the items are also random, so you don’t get to choose which character you get. This means it’s better to go with a friend, so you can be ready to trade designs if you don’t get the one you want the first time. On the special design of all the goods, PR Times reports (translated from Japanese),
In the café collaboration held at five stores…original goods have been designed with a cherry blossom theme using newly drawn illustrations will appear one after another!
The Naruto Shippuden cafe will only be around for a very limited time in Kyoto, definitely making it a special place for fans to visit. Not only does it have traditional Japanese foods inspired by Naruto characters that are picture-perfect and social media-ready, it also has very exclusive cherry blossom-themed goods you can’t find anywhere else. One thing that makes cherry blossom season so special is how short-lived it is, and the Naruto cafe is no different.
The Naruto Shippuden cafe will be in five of Maeda Coffee’s locations in Kyoto (Maeda Coffee Muromachi Main Store, Bunhiro Store, Oike Store, Manga Museum Store, and Ryukoku Museum Store), Japan from March 20th to April 13th 2025.
