Just like Odyssey and Valhalla did, Assassin’s Creed Shadows gives the player the option to romance a few specific characters for Naoe and Yasuke. While most of the characters aren’t that important to the story, there’s one who is a central figure.

That character is Lady Oichi and she’s one of the main romance options for Yasuke in the game. While romancing other characters is fairly straightforward, Lady Oichi is a little bit more complex than that and requires some very specific choices.
A Prayer For Omi
The first mission in the present-day that will present you with romantic dialogue choices for Lady Oichi is A Prayer For Omi. After spending time with Oichi and nearing the mission’s end, Yasuke will be asked what he’d do with his last day, which prompts an option for “I would spend my last night with you”.
Pick this to flirt with Lady Oichi a little, although be warned that nothing is going to come of it just yet. It’s not clear in Shadows if you need to pick every romance option to get the romance to work, but it’s still worth picking to be safe.
Romance options for Lady Oichi appear in one of Yasuke’s flashbacks, but it’s not clear if these have an impact either since his advances are rejected either way. It doesn’t hurt to pick them, though!
The Wheel Unmasked
Choose To Spare Lady Oichi
The next time an important choice with Lady Oichi comes up is when she’s revealed to be The Wheel, one of the main members of the Shinbakfu, just a few missions later. You’re given the choice to spare her as Yasuke or attack her as Naoe, and while she won’t die no matter what you pick, if you’re planning on romancing her, it’s better to pick spare just to be safe.
The Wheel Turns
The Main Mission For Romancing Lady Oichi
After completing Unmasking The Wheel and presumably choosing to spare Lady Oichi, a letter will turn up at the Hideout that tells Yasuke to go and meet her. Lady Oichi can be found in the markets of southwestern Azuchi, as shown on the map above, and you’ll meet up with her near the Merchants’ Quarters.
Chat with her and you’ll get the first big choice of the mission, which is to either end the quest and say goodbye, or to say “I miss your smile” and move the relationship forward. Doing this will unlock the next part of the quest where Yasuke and Lady Oichi meet at Okishima, also known as Cat Island, for a date.
Meet Lady Oichi there and walk with her a bit until another cutscene is triggered where you get the option to choose a dialogue choice. Here is where you need to say, “I am drawn to you”, which is marked with a love heart. This won’t do the trick just yet, as the mission will have you meeting Lady Oichi’s daughters and chatting with them.
The daughters are all scattered across the island trying to find cats for their mother, and they’re all easily found by Observing with LT on Xbox or L2 on PS5. Once you’ve talked to all three, you’ll have the option to either keep Fuji-maru and unlock a new pet, or give him to the girls by saying, “You may have him”. As painful as it is, you’ll need to give him away to win over Lady Oichi.
Giving the dog away triggers the next part of the cutscene, which sees Lady Oichi and Yasuke enjoying the sunset together for a nice moment. Here’s where you need to pick the final dialogue choice, which is to say, “Let’s enjoy the moment”. Once you’ve done this, Yasuke and Lady Oichi will share a kiss, and our loveable samurai will wake up the next morning with a goodbye note by his bedside.
