What are Toxin Sacs in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Toxin Sacs are an Equipment Material you will need to make Poison-based Gear. Think of them as the High Rank version of the Poison Sacs you got from earlier monsters. Poison is a very useful skill to add to your weaponry. Repeatedly striking a monster with poison weapons will eventually poison the monster itself. This will cause its health to decrease slowly for a short period of time. Make sure to check your monster guide whenever you can to learn monster weaknesses and take them down quickly. Chatacabra, Hirabami, Quematrice, and Xu Wu are all very weak to poison, so bring the correct gear to deal with these monsters efficiently. Toxin Sacs will be required for making Rompopolo, Gypceros, and Rathian gear in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to Get Toxin Sacs in Monster Hunter Wilds
Two monsters drop Toxin Sacs in Monster Hunter Wilds. The first is the Rompopolo. You should be familiar with this strange creature from its first appearance during the main storyline. Find High Rank Rompopolos in the Oilwell Basin and begin a Field Survey/Investigation to take them down. You have a 20% chance to receive a Toxin Sac from the rewards afterward. Break the Rompopolo’s back or tail, and you’ll have a 40% chance to get a Toxin Sac from the rewards page. The Rompopolo’s weakness is water, and its weak points are its head and tail.
The second monster that drops Toxin Sacs is the bird-like poison wyvern Gypceros. This monster will appear in the world after you’ve completed the story. It can appear in the Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, Ruins of Wyveria, and the Windward Plains, depending on the weather conditions. The Gypceros has a crest on its head that can temporarily blind your hunter and it will even play dead. You have a 20% chance of receiving a Toxin Sac as a reward for defeating it. Use fire or ice and attack its head to defeat this tricky monster.
