Most materials and currencies are pretty scarce in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The money in the game is smartly called Mon, and you’ll need lots of it to buy new weapons, unlock bases around the world, and upgrade your gear.

You’ll need to full upgrade your rations to unlock the Suture Self trophy or achievement in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
While you’ll slowly get some as you complete quests and make your way through the story, there are a few ways to get Mon quickly in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. If you need to bolster your funds quickly, you can head out and do the things we’ll list below.
Complete Contracts
One smart way to earn Mon quickly in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is to complete Contracts. They are short quests that change each season, rewarding you with Mon and upgrade resources each time.
You can start them by interacting with a small chest of drawers in any Kakurega base of operations. Once you’ve unlocked one for 800 Mon, you can fast travel to it whenever you want to restock on rations, replenish your available Scouts, or manage your allies. From there, you can see what contracts are available and accept any that you fancy taking on.
Loot Enemies And Chests
This is an obvious one. Any chest and dead enemy has the chance to give you Mon when you loot them. Larger chests or more powerful enemies will give you larger amounts of money, but every little helps.
However, not every chest will contain money and not every dead enemy can be looted. A beam of blue light will be coming from an enemy if they can be looted.
You can hold the Observe button and look for any glowing gold dot around the world. That indicates something you can loot, which’ll often give you Mon.
Sell Gear And Valuables
If you’re exploring a lot in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and opening every chest you find, you’ll soon be filling up your inventory space. Also, since gear doesn’t keep up with your overall level, it’ll quickly become outdated and useless.
Therefore, you should try and sell everything you don’t need for Mon. Head to any vendors and tab over to the sell tab. From there, you can sell any piece of gear or weapon you’re not using and fill up your Mon purse.
Valuables also have no use beyond being sold for money. From the sell tab at a vendor, hold square if you’re on PlayStation or X if you’re on Xbox to sell all Valuables you’re currently carrying.
Complete Side Quests
Finally, a lot of side quests will also offer large amounts of Mon for completing them. If you head into the Objectives menu and look for the selection of quests called “People of X place”, you’ll be able to see what quests you have access to and what Mon you’ll get for completing them.
Simply track the quest and head out to finish it. Once they’re done, you’ll be rewarded with some XP and a bundle of Mon to fill up your funds.
