Guardian Rathalos Moveset in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Guardian version of Monster Hunter Wilds‘ Rathalos is a dangerous monster to battle. It is different from the other Rathalos, as it has different moves. Here is every attack you can expect from this Guardian battle.
Fireball
-
-
The Monster Hunter Wilds monster called Guardian Rathalos will flick its head to one side, gathering fire in its mouth. After that, it will launch a fireball at you. In order to dodge this attack, you will want to roll to one side or the other. If it shoots any of the gray crystals on the ground with its fireball, they will explode, dealing a lot of damage if you aren’t careful.
Aerial Fireball
-
-
In the air, Rathalos will wiggle its head and lower back before slamming your character with this aerial fireball move. In order to get out of the way, you need to dodge to the left or right. If it shoots any of the gray crystals on the ground with its fireball, they will explode, dealing a lot of damage if you aren’t careful.
Bite
-
-
Rathalos can grab at you with its mouth. It will charge at you with its head down, flames pouring from its mouth as it attempts to bite you. To get out of the way, you need to roll backwards or underneath it. There is a charge version and a non-charge version of this attack, but they both work the same way.
Tail Attack and Flying Tail Attack
-
-
Rathalos can do both a grounded and flying tail attack. Either in the air or on the ground, it can swing its tail at you, swiping with its mace-like appendage and attempting to knock you to the ground. When it is about to do this, it will look back at its tail, then swipe twice. To get out of the way, you need to put distance between you and Rathalos, so dodge backwards. To identify when the aerial attack will happen, it will lift its feet in the air near you.
Stomp Attack
-
-
When Rathalos’ feet begin to glow white, and it gathers itself to leap at you, it is about to do a stomp attack. This attack brings up some of those gray crystals where its feet hit, then it will throw a fireball at those crystals to get them to explode and deal more damage to you. The best way to get away from this attack is to roll forward, getting out of the range of its feet and the fireball.
Flying Dive
-
-
There is an attack that Rathalos can do from the air where it slams down onto your character or your Palico with its butt. You need to dodge to the left or the right in order to get out of the way of this aerial slam.
Feet Slam
-
-
Another attack Rathalos can do is to a slam with its feet from the air. It’s a little different from the flying dive, in that will fly straight up, then slam straight down with its feet instead of slamming down at an angle towards you with its butt. As long as you aren’t in its immediate area, this attack should not be able to hit you.
Flying Back Claw Attack
-
-
If you see Rathalos hover in the air just above the ground, pull its wings back, and curl its feet at you, it will then perform a flying back claw attack. It will claw the ground three times, then slam its whole body into the ground. You need to roll backwards from this and keep rolling to stay out of the way of the rest of the attacks.
