How to Assassinate the Wounded in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

How to Assassinate the Wounded in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will have numerous masked enemies within the Onryo group of objectives. Each of these masked individuals will need to be tracked down and assassinated, which will involve finding out each of their true identities. During the earlier chapters of the game, the first two on Naoe’s list are the Golden Teppo, and the Wounded.

The primary goals for the quests surrounding the Wounded will include finding out the identity of the man behind the mask, knowing where Naoe will be able to find him, and getting aid from a small army to attack the fortress when she makes her move. Each of the Onryo will consist of multiple quests to investigate them, extending the time it takes to complete everything.

The best Assassin’s Creed Shadows difficulty setting isn’t just determined by the player’s skill level, with different playstyles also factoring in.

Where is the Gansenji Temple in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

First the wounded Yaya Assassin's Creed Shadows

Once players have set their sights on pursuing this target, they will pursue The Fatherless Monk objective. This requires them to make their way to the Gansenji Temple. This temple can be found by first heading to Sakai and then traveling southeast. Each time the seasons change in the game, players can make use of Scouts to reveal objectives on their map.

While using scouts might be a fast solution, players can simply follow the road out Sakai and make their way to the nearest question mark. This can save them a Scout for smuggling. Once players arrive, there will be a large fight happening on the temple grounds. More than anything, this serves as a means for players to become more familiar with the feel of Assassin’s Creed Shadows combat.

There will be markers above each enemy. Flank each of them from behind with poise strikes to take them all down fast and effectively. Striking from the front can cause them to block your attacks.

Once the fight ends, a cutscene will play with Kyonyo. He will give Naoe the information she needs to pursue her target, including the real name of the Wounded. Players will also meet Yaya in this cutscene. Players will see that Yaya is against lethal force as a first choice for resolving problems, something players should keep in mind. Players will have two objectives to pursue next. Killing the executioner at the Killing fields and finding Mitsumune.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Review

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is a spectacular return to form for the franchise, delivering one of the series’ more tightly focused historical adventures.

Where is the Killing Field in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The easiest way to get to the Killing Field is to head to Amagasaki. Here, players will want to synchronize with the Viewpoint. Travel directly left of this Viewpoint and players will pass through the Killing Field. This location is quite far, so players should whistle for their horse before they start making the journey.

This area is riddled with enemies, and players will not be able to switch to Yasuke at this point in the game. It is best to assassinate as many as possible without being detected. It is likely that a fight will break out, and Naoe will need to stay mobile. If possible, focus on killing the Executioner, Shindo Hiroshii. This will complete the mission and allow them to flee from any remaining enemies if there is still a large number to deal with. Completing this reveals where to find the Wounded.

Players can use the haystacks and their whistle to get the jump on many of the enemies surrounding Hiroshii.

How to Retrieve the Statue in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Players will seek out and find Mitsumune during the Stolen Faith quest. He can be found at the Nunobiki Falls, which lies to the north of Amagaski. Players will see a Viewpoint north of the Killing Field; they can head here first, then head to the right of the map to this location. PC players will want their settings tweaked to best enjoy the vistas from these Viewpoints. Players will now need to retrieve a statue, with their only clues being as follows:

  • It was taken to Senri Hills.
  • It is at Toneyama Post Town.
  • It is guarded by bandits.

Looking at the map will show where Senri Hills is located. There is a Viewpoint slightly to the northwest of where this is marked. Traveling to the right of this viewpoint will take them straight to Toneyama Post Town. Players can hold down the Aim button to locate where the blue objective marker is to home in on their target objective.

Once players have obtained the statue, they can bring it back to Mitsumune to complete this quest and begin their final assault against the Wounded. Players will want to ensure they have the right gear for their playstyle.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Best Naoe Abilities To Unlock Early

Here are the stealth-focused abilities for Naoe that players should unlock as early as possible as they progress through Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

How to Assassinate Wada Koretake in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Players won’t just sneak into the Amagasaki Castle area, use their Aim button to find their target, and assassinate their target unseen. There will be a large conflict going on, and players will have some objectives to take care of beforehand.

Take Out the Snipers

Once players regain control of Naoe, there will be six marked snipers. Take out the three snipers on the left, then go after the three snipers on the right. Once the last of the snipers are dealt with, players should head north and perch on the first set of roofs of Amagasaki Castle.

Assassinate Wada Koretake

Use the Aim button to locate the blue objective marker for Assassinate Wada Koretake. Players should stick to the roofs, and make their way unseen towards Koretake. They will be able to leap and assassinate him from above.

While this may wrap up the stealth and combat of the mission, there is a major choice players will need to make at the end of this quest. This choice will impact Yaya.
