Daredevil: Born Again managed to draw 7.5 million views in its premiere week, which provided a perfect debut for the R-rated series. The watch time data proves that the show has kept up with the other MCU television shows on Disney Plus despite having a mature rating. Not only that but the success of Daredevil: Born Again is also driving viewership up for the original show. Whether it’s old fans revisiting it ahead of watching the new version or people who never saw it in the first place, Netflix’s version of Daredevil has had a 153% boost in watch time.

They are impressive numbers for a show that has been released during a fascinating period in the MCU’s history when the general interest dropped slightly. However, the tight storytelling, interesting camera angles, detailed characters, and gripping fight scenes are all paying off. It proves that sometimes, Marvel keeping things simple can be more beneficial than the over-the-top and complicated multiverse storylines that have been taking place lately in the current phase.

Daredevil: Born Again’s Success Should Lead To The Character Appearing More

The success of Daredevil: Born Again is certainly a positive sign for that individual franchise and the character himself. Filming is already taking place for Daredevil: Born Again’s second season, with Marvel also contemplating green-lighting a third one. Marvel Studios has promised it will be changing things up with the television department to put together more long-running shows rather than quick one-season hits that aren’t followed up on, and that is something Daredevil could benefit from. This means audiences will be able to sink their teeth into the character and the supporting cast, as the chances are high that there will be more than a couple of seasons. It also gives Marvel Studios the opportunity to do some long-term storytelling with the character, which hasn’t been the case with the likes of Moon Knight.

Daredevil has been rumored to appear in Avengers: Doomsday as well, which would be another huge step for the character. He would also fit nicely into Spider-Man 4 if Marvel Studios goes ahead and makes that a street-level film as well, with Spider-Man reportedly being taken in a new direction moving forward. The fact that so many people are viewing Daredevil: Born Again and the original series is a positive sign that this will happen. People love the character, whether it’s as Matt Murdock or Daredevil. He’s completely different from anyone else within the MCU, and that makes him a lot of fun to watch, as there’s a variation from what happens elsewhere. If Daredevil: Born Again continues to be a hit, then there’s no doubt that he’s a character who will appear even more frequently moving forward.
