Summary
- Atlus has registered a new domain name suggesting a Persona 4 remake announcement is imminent.
- The domain is similar to one that was registered three months before Persona 3 Reload’s announcement.
- That timeline would align with a potential reveal during this year’s Summer Game Fest.
Atlus has been so busy that it’s hard to believe it’s only been a little over a year since the launch of Persona 3 Reload. Despite that, many are already expecting news on Persona 6 soon. However, evidence has surfaced suggesting the next game in the Persona series won’t be a new installment but another remake of an old one.
That evidence has been shared by ScrambledFaz on Twitter. The evidence in question is a screenshot of the recent registration for the domain name p4re.jp. As noted in the tweet, Atlus registered the domain p3re.jp in 2023 and three months later, the studio announced Persona 3 Reload. Less than a year after that, we were all playing it.

A Persona 4 remake has been rumoured for a long time and it’s starting to look likelier.
The similarity between that domain name and the new one registered by Atlus this week now has many Persona fans thinking an announced remake of Persona 4 is not only in the works, but if it follows the same trajectory as the last remake, we will be getting an official announcement three months from now. For those who don’t have their calendars handy, that would line up with this year’s Summer Game Fest.
The Evidence Pointing To A Persona 4 Remake Is Mounting
It’s Impossible To Ignore At This Point
Again, sticking to the trajectory of what happened ahead of Persona 3 Reload’s launch, that could mean we are playing a Persona 4 remake by this time next year. That might be jumping the gun a little with just a registered domain to go off for the time being, but when has that ever stopped Persona fans? We’ve been talking about the next game having a green theme for almost a year.
With two years between the original Persona 3 and Persona 4, if there is a remake of the latter being readied for 2026, that would put the same two-year gap between the remakes. The re in the domain name also suggests that if there is a remake, it will have a similar naming convention to Persona 3’s reimagining. It won’t necessarily be Persona 4 Reload, and fans have already been suggesting other words Atlus might go for, Rewind and Retruth among them.
Sega had a huge 2024 with new Persona, Yakuza, and Sonic games, not to mention Metaphor: ReFantazio winning it the Metacritic award for publisher of the year. The studio has already confirmed it will be launching fewer games in 2026, but added its focus will be Sonic, Like A Dragon, and Persona.
