Once you start exploring the world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll quickly realize that the zones that make a red bar appear at the top of your screen are great as they give you a ton of loot that you can use to build your characters, upgrade your gear, or make your hideout better.
The Osaka Castle is one such area that you can find in the early zones itself, and it’ll give you some legendary items. Getting these items early can make a big difference to your playthrough, but you’ll first have to fight off a bunch of enemies for it.
How To Find And Enter Osaka Castle
Before you get your hands on the legendary loot of Osaka Castle, you’ll first have to find it in the Izumi Settsu province. You can locate this castle in the Osaka region to the western edge of Settsu, and you have to move directly in the western direction from your hideout to reach it.
The castle is surrounded by multiple construction sites and has many ways to enter, including the front entrance to the south. However, the best place to enter it is from these locations:
- You can either head to the southwest side of the castle, climb a building, and use a rope to directly get inside. This can only be done with Naoe.
- Or you can get into the waters and head just above the western part of the castle that sticks out a bit. Here, you’ll find a few crates and some bits sticking out of the wall that you can climb to get inside.
How To Find And Defeat All Samurai Daisho In Osaka Castle
Once you enter Osaka Castle from either of the entries mentioned above, your first goal is to find and defeat three Samurai Daisho in it. These can be found at specific locations in the castle and you can spot them as white dots in observer mode, which is the same color as the legendary chest and other quest items in the area.
Here’s how you can easily get all three Daisho in this castle:
-
-
As you enter from the western edge, you’ll see a big group of enemies below you. Smoke bombs and Kunai will be your best friends here as you can first use the latter to defeat a few of them, and then the former to assassinate the rest.
Once the group is eliminated, you can find the first Samurai Daisho roaming around this area just to the south of where you entered. This one will have three health bars, and it’s recommended to attempt an assassination on him before fighting.
-
-
After defeating the first Daisho, climb up the buildings on your east and you’ll see some stairs leading you to the main castle. You’ll find the second Daisho outside this castle to the west, which is where these stairs will take you.
There are quite a few enemies around this Daisho, and it’s important to eliminate these first before taking the second three-HP bar enemy.
-
-
Once you defeat the second Daisho, it’s time to head back to the outskirts of Osaka Castle in the southern direction as the third Daisho can be found here. You’ll find him past the main walls standing at the bottom.
Since the Daisho is standing below, it gives you a good chance to start with an assassination from the top. You can then throw a smoke bomb to lose aggro and assassinate him again to defeat him.
There will be a lot of soldiers around the third Daisho as well so you wouldn’t want to challenge a head-on battle here.
How To Find The Legendary Chest In Osaka Castle
The path to get the legendary chest in Osaka Castle is quite easy. Head back to the location where you assassinated the second Daisho to the west of the main castle building and you’ll find some wooden structures letting you climb up. You’ll see a window at the top of these structures leading you in, but you can ignore it.
Instead, keep going up to the top of the castle where you’ll find a few doors just below the roof with fast travel on it. One of these doors will be open, leading you directly to the legendary chest with the Peasant Clothes legendary Naoe armor and Assassination with Attack engraving.
All Stockpile Locations In Osaka Castle
Other than the legendary chest, you can find a ton of common loot in the random buildings of Osaka Castle by checking out the yellow dots in observer mode. However, there are some special resource spots in here too where you can assign a scout to get a bunch of specific resources at the end of the season.
These resources can be used to upgrade your hideout, and here’s how you can find each one:
- The first resource depot can be found on the northwestern side of the castle near its edge. This has one grain resource that you can smuggle.
- Move a bit to the right of the first depot on the map and you’ll find another one with a grain resource as well.
- As you’re moving down in the south direction for the third Samurai Daisho, you can find the third depot right before you jump down to him. This one contains a mineral resource.
- Finally, you can find multiple resource spots at the bottom of the main castle, most of them being wood. You’ll have to battle a ton of enemies and find your way down to get these.
