All Adjacency Bonus Types in Civilization 7
Most of the Adjacency Bonuses in Civilization 7 are determined by building type. See the list below for a breakdown:
Building Type |
Adjacency Bonus |
Food |
|
Production |
|
Gold |
|
Science |
|
Culture |
|
Happiness |

Using this rough outline, you can see how planning the locations of each building in your civilization can impact the main resources utilized in the game. Building Culture and Happiness Buildings near Mountains, for example, is always going to be more beneficial than building them elsewhere. Of course, you can build Wonders in strategic locations to strengthen the output of a tile containing a building too, since all buildings gain an adjacency bonus from Wonders.
Most buildings (a Civilization’s Unique Buildings being a common exception) will lose their adjacency bonus when the game transitions to a new age. Thus, to more efficiently upgrade your settlements in a new age, you should overbuild to replace those buildings with new buildings of the same type. This way, your careful city planning in previous ages will continue to serve you well going forward. Also, remember that Warehouse Buildings don’t have Adjacency Bonuses, so you should carefully consider where you place them to avoid closing off prime spots for other buildings.
