Masaru’s True Love
What Is Yakuza Even About?
Another element the Like A Dragon series is known for is the silliness in its substories and side activities. However, the Minato Girls quest takes it to another level. This substory revolves around Majima searching for a romantic match for crew member, Masaru.
To reach the end of this quest line, you’ll need to complete a series of substories and witness one of the most cringe-worthy, silly, and funny cutscenes the Like A Dragon series has ever created. You’ll also be surprised by which girl Masaru ends up choosing.

Misaki’s Fate
An Odyssey
The Devil Flags’ quest in Pirate Yakuza is a journey in itself. At the beginning of this story, you meet Misaki, who has just lost her father to the Devil Flag pirates. From there, the side story of the Devil Flags and Misaki will unfold, taking you to new islands and across waters exclusive to this substory.
By the end of this journey, you will not only discover the fate of every leader of the Devil Flags, or Noah’s crush, but also see Misaki get her justice and permanently join the Goro Pirates.

A feature introduced in Ichiban’s RPG-style games is the Drink Links. These links allow you to learn more about your party or crew and build a stronger friendship and bond with them. To unlock these Drink Links, you first need to complete special chats with the characters.

Golden Balls’ Reward

In Pirate Yakuza, there is a similar quest to one in Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, where you must search for seven golden balls and a wish will be granted to you. It may also remind you of a popular anime.
These golden balls are hidden throughout the game’s world and can be easily missed if you get absorbed in other, more straightforward quests or the main story. When you collect all the golden balls, your main reward will be 10,000 dollars and the main NPC of this substory, Shen, as a crew member.

Vocational School Secret Test
Personality: Pirate
The Ounabara Vocational School is another side activity introduced in Ichiban’s games that helps you earn points for the personality system. In Pirate Yakuza, completing tests will grant you Reputation Points, which you can use to unlock new abilities.
If you complete ten of these tests, Ikari will join your crew. However, if you pass all the available tests, a new one will be unlocked: the Ounabara Proficiency Test. This test is a mix of previous questions and requires you to answer all of them correctly to pass. The reward for passing this test is 10,000 Reputation Points.

The Dragon Kart minigame offers fun races and duels. If you’re a completionist or achievement hunter, you’ll earn an achievement for winning the three main cups. But there’s more to the activity than that.

Once you complete the Grand Prix and Duels, you can race against Ran herself. If you beat her, a new substory will be unlocked: a group of Robo Michios arrives and challenges you to a duel. It’s not an easy fight, but if you win you’ll earn a ring, and Robo Michio Mach will join your crew.

Mysterious Organization
What Is RGG Cooking?
One of the main antagonists in Pirate Yakuza, Raymond Law, reveals that he plans to use the treasure Majima is searching for as an entry ticket into a powerful organization—the same organization that Queen Michele was working for. Similar to Chitose’s family in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, this group is only mentioned and never shown.
Could Chitose’s family be members of this organization? We can feel the influence these groups have on the characters, and we know both have money and power. Is RGG Studios setting up a group as big and powerful as the Yakuza once were in the series? A faction that rivals the Daidoji and could clash with them in future games.

Amon Is Back
Back Again
Amon is a frequent antagonist in the Like A Dragon games. His substories and content are mostly unlocked by completing other difficult or long challenges in the games, and he is back in Pirate Yakuza as well.
To unlock Amon’s quest and fight him, you need to complete every challenge in the Pirate Coliseum. What makes him unique in Pirate Yakuza is that you also need to fight him in naval combat. After defeating him in ship-to-ship combat, it’s time for the duel, which is by far the hardest boss fight in the game. If you win, you not only earn Amon’s respect, but also a rare ring.
