Youtooz Has Teased Another Popular Mascot Is Joining Its PlayStation Collection

PlayStation teamed up with Youtooz in 2024 to turn some of its most iconic mascots, old and new, into collectible figures. It seems those first four must have sold pretty well as Youtooz has confirmed a fifth PlayStation character will be joining them very soon.

Astro Bot, Kratos, Sly Cooper, and Ratchet (with Clank on his back) were the first four characters from PlayStation’s back catalog to be immortalized as Youtooz figures. A strong starting line-up with arguably something for everyone in there. Well, everyone who either loves what PlayStation does now or has done at some point since the turn of the century.

Marvel Rivals isn’t even two months old yet Jeff is already about to get a Youtooz figure.

There are some notable omissions, probably because Youtooz plans to keep building on its PlayStation collection as it has demonstrated via the reveal of the fifth character in the range. Well, it’s kind of a half-reveal. The next PlayStation mascot getting a Youtooz figure will be Sackboy. It says Sackboy: A Big Adventure right there in the teaser image. However, as was the case for Astro Bot’s figure, only a silhouette of the collectible has been shown for now.

Even if you missed the name of the character’s latest game at the base of the image, and the PlayStation logo in the corner, it’s pretty obvious who the next PlayStation Youtooz is going to be. As for how long we have to wait for the full reveal, and then how long it will take until we can get our hands on the Sackboy figure, it could be a while. The first four PlayStation figures were revealed in November, and they still haven’t shipped.

  Youtooz has teamed up with PlayStation for the first time, and naturally Astro was one of the first characters to get the Youtooz treatment. The Bot is striking a signature pose and his cape has been cleverly incorporated into the Youtooz design to hold Astro up while he’s standing on one leg.

  Ratchet And Clank Youtooz Figure
  

  Part of Youtooz’s first collaboration with PlayStation, Ratchet is one of the collection’s initial four figures. As usual, though, the Lombax hasn’t come alone. Ratchet’s figure is wearing his trusty companion, Clank as a backpack.

If you didn’t order the original four PlayStation figures, or this is the first time you’ve heard about them, it’s not too late to pick them up and receive them at the same time as everyone else. All four are still in stock at Youtooz and are available to pre-order now. They’re still slated to be released between April 20 and May 20, so a two-month wait at the longest, but probably a six-month wait for the Sackboy figure’s release, at best.

As for what Sackboy making the cut means for the mascot’s future, hopefully it’s an indicator that PlayStation hasn’t forgotten about him despite having a new toy to play with in Astro Bot. It’s notable that Sackboy has been chosen over the likes of Joel, Ellie, and Aloy. However, Sly was one of the first four characters, and he hasn’t starred in a new game since 2013 and won’t be doing so again any time soon.
