Is Mecha BREAK Free-To-Play?
While the Global Storm Open Beta and other beta periods have been free-to-play, it’s been uncertain whether the full release of Mecha BREAK will be free to play. However, thanks to our interview with Amazing Seasun Games CEO and Mecha BREAK lead producer, Kris Kwok, that Mecha BREAK will be free to play on launch.

Esports.net interviewed Kris Kwok on March 14, 2025, at the Amazing Seasun Games HQ in Zhouhai China, during the Mecha BREAK Pre-Launch Invitational .
While the company and various releases have detailed the fact that the game will be free-to-play with in-game monetization, there was still some doubt, but our interview with the developers confirmed it.

Will Mecha BREAK be Pay-to-Win?
With any free-to-play game there’s the worry that the game will become pay-to-win. With Mecha BREAK there have been concerns over the monetization model. In the same interview with Kris Kwok, the lead producer stated that the in-game purchases for Mecha Break will be “100% of our monetization will be based on cosmetics not pay to win. Not even 1% will be pay-to-win.”
This means the game will likely avoid the pay-to-win pitfall, although some still remain sceptical due to the possible inclusion of loot boxes, and in-game currencies. Still, the studio maintains that it has no plans for anything other than cosmetic purchases within the game. This has been a successful model in other titles, and we’re sure that Mecha BREAK can achieve similar results..
