Genshin Impact’s Anemo characters will all need the same item when ascending: Vayuda Turquoise. This elemental gem is the one that corresponds with Anemo, making it a necessity in the ascension of those with an Anemo Vision (and Venti).
Vayuda Turquoise can be found in many of the same ways as the other elemental gems, though with some slight differences. Whether a player is looking for Slivers, Fragments, Chunks, or Gemstones, this guide will outline every way to earn Vayuda Turquoise, as well as which characters use it.
Which Characters Use Vayuda Turquoise
Every Anemo character will need Vayuda Turquoise to ascend, except for the Anemo-wielding Traveler, who uses their own unique gem called Brilliant Diamond.
The number and quality of gems required changes with each ascension level. Here’s a breakdown:
Ascension Level |
Character Level |
Required Gem |
---|---|---|
1 |
20 |
3x Sliver |
2 |
40 |
3x Fragment |

6x Fragment |

60 |
3x Chunk |

6x Chunk |

6x Gemstone |
There are only seven Anemo characters currently (and the Traveler), including the following:
Genshin Impact Bosses That Drop Vayuda Turquoise
There are very few bosses and weekly bosses (next section) that drop Vayuda Turquoise, relative to the other elemental gems. There are only four standard bosses that will drop it:
The higher these bosses’ levels, the better quality gems they can drop:
World Level |
Boss Level |

Slivers |

Genshin Impact Weekly Bosses That Drop Vayuda Turquoise
As mentioned, bosses that can drop Vayuda Turquoise are few and far between. As of now, there are only two weekly bosses that are capable of rewarding Vayuda Turquoise upon defeat:
The higher the trounce domain level when defeated, the better the potential gems can be:
Gems |

Slivers |

Other Ways to Get Vayuda Turquoise in Genshin Impact
Luckily, there are quite a few other ways to get some Vayuda Turquoise.
Daily Commissions
An easy but unreliable method for earning elemental gems of any kind is by completing daily commissions for the Adventurers’ Guild. After completing the four assigned daily tasks, players can head over to any branch of the Guild and speak with Katheryne, who will grant some bonus rewards.
These rewards can include elemental ascension gem Slivers. The problem is that they’re always Slivers, and the element is random, so it won’t always be Vayuda Turquoise. Luckily, the next two subsections will outline some ways around this problem.
Crafting
With the help of a crafting bench, players can create better quality gems from lower-level ones. This works at a 3:1 ratio, as shown here:
Ingredients |
Mora |
Product |
||
---|---|---|---|---|
3x Sliver |
+ |
300 |
= |
1x Fragment |
3x Fragment |
+ |
900 |
= |
1x Chunk |
3x Chunk |
+ |
2,700 |
= |
1x Gemstone |
It costs a lot of gems to upgrade to higher levels, but it’s something that most players will find themselves doing pretty often, as high-level gems like Chunks and Gemstones are very hard to come by through any other method in this guide.
Conversion
The other way around having the wrong elemental gems is to convert them. Like the crafting outlined above, this will require a crafting bench, but it’ll also require some Dust of Azoth. This strange substance can be purchased with Stardust in Paimon’s Bargains, where it costs 5 Stardust for 10 jars.
With this conversion process, the following gems can be turned into Vayuda Turquoise: Agnidus Agate, Prithiva Topaz, Nagadus Emerald, Shivada Jade, Varunada Lazurite, or Vajrada Amethyst.
Higher-level gems will require more Dust of Azoth to convert:
Gem level |
Dust of Azoth required |
---|---|
Sliver |
1 |
Fragment |
3 |
Chunk |
9 |
Gemstone |
27 |
Parametric Transformer
After obtaining the Parametric Transformer, players can use it to convert materials into items. With this process, “sets” of items can be created, some of which include elemental gems. One set contains two elemental gem Slivers, and another contains a single elemental gem Fragment. Which element is obtained is random, much like the bonus rewards at the Adventurers’ Guild.
There’s no way to guarantee which sets of items will be produced, but chances are increased by using certain materials. The following materials are found to increase the likelihood of receiving elemental ascension gems:
Iron Chunk |
Cor Lapis |
Firm Arrowhead |
Hunter’s Sacrificial Knife |
White Iron Chunk |
Noctilucous Jade |
Sharp Arrowhead |
Agent’s Sacrificial Knife |
Crystal Chunk |
Starsilver |
Weathered Arrowhead |
Inspector’s Sacrificial Knife |
Magical Crystal Chunk |
Crystal Marrow |
Sango Pearl |
Loach Pearl |
Amethyst Lump |
Crystal Core |
Electro Crystal |
Events
Often, time-limited events can be a source of ascension gems. Many events have reward shops that contain elemental gems, while some others can offer the gems as rewards for meeting certain criteria more directly.
Not every event has elemental gems as a reward, but it is one method that can be fairly easy.
