After word got out a little earlier than intended thanks to an official Lego Facebook page jumping the gun, Lego and Pokemon finally confirmed they will be doing business together for the first time in 2026. That has naturally sparked quite a bit of excitement from those who love Pokemon, Lego, or both, as predictions and requests for what the crossover might bring have been pouring in ever since the news became official.
The teaser confirming Pokemon and Lego will work together for the first time was nothing more than some bricks coming together to form a Lego Pikachu tail. Like it or not, whatever we get from Lego on the Pokemon front next year, Pikachu is going to be at the center of it. There’s no telling what else we might get, both out of the gate and in the years that follow if this is going to be a long-term thing, so fans have been getting their hopes and dreams for the crossover in early.

Alongside Pikachu, many have accepted the first sets in Pokemon’s Lego collection will probably be the usual suspects when it comes to Pokemon merch. Expect the Kanto starters – Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle – to be in there, and maybe an appearance from Eevee too. 2025 might be the Year of Eevee, but the Gen 1 Pokemon’s popularity almost certainly means it will be featured among the first Lego sets.

But What Do We Want It To Look Like?
As for what Pokemon fans have on their wishlists, if Lego goes the same route as it has done with other IPs and branches out into some bigger sets for older fans, an elaborate and detailed Mewtwo seems to be one of the more popular requests. Lots of people are hoping for a beefy Charizard set in the replies to the initial reveal, both on Twitter and Reddit, and while it might not be the big set people want, it seems likely that Charizard will be turned into Lego at some point.
A Lego Pokemon Center that comes with a random assortment of Minifigures is also a popular demand, alongside the hope that Pokemon gets curated Minifigures and not the interactive figures it has created for Mario. There’s also a fear that Lego will lean on the style it has used for its Animal Crossing sets which haven’t been warmly received so far.
It didn’t occur to me until I was sifting through people’s hopes and dreams for Pokemon x Lego that the tease might not be connected to sets at all. There’s a hope that the tease is for a Pokemon Lego game. As great as that could be, and a way to fill the video game gap between Legends: Z-A and the unrevealed Gen 10 games, that seems incredibly unlikely. Don’t let me stop you from dreaming about it, though.
