Mydei is the Chrysos Heir of Strife and an Imaginary Destruction character that deals damage based on his HP. His kit mainly revolves around his consuming his own HP to deal enhanced attacks on enemies. The best part about his kit is that it’s very easy to understand and Honkai: Star Rail players should have no problem using him in a team.

Much like his lore, Mydei is almost unkillable when on the field. This is because of the ‘Vendetta’ state he enters after accumulating a certain amount of points. This boosts his Max HP and his enhanced damage output. To achieve this, Mydei needs to be accurately built to utilize his kit and this includes finding the correct light cone. Because of his unique mechanic, Mydei Light Cones in HSR are limited, so it would be best to acquire whichever light cone you can from this list.

Flames Afar

Since Mydei is a Destruction unit, he can use any Destruction attribute Light Cone available. However, it needs to be compatible with his HP heavy kit. There are not many 4-star substitutes available, but Flames Afar is your next best option. Basically, when the user’s cumulative HP loss during one attack exceeds 25% of their Max HP, or if the amount of their own HP consumed at once is greater than 25%, the user is healed by 15% of their Max HP. Additionally, their DMG dealt is also increased by 25%. Obtaining S5 of this Light Cone would be ideal since the DMG dealt will be pushed up to 50%. It’s your best possible 4-star option that compliments Mydei’s decrease and increase in HP when he uses his skill.

Ninja Record – Sound Hunt

Ninja Record – Sound Hunt is your next best option for a 4-star Light Cone and fits Mydei’s profile perfectly. It increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12% and whenever the user loses or regains HP, their CRIT DMG increases by 18%. If you manage to acquire S5 of Ninja Record – Sound Hunter for Mydei in HSR, his Max HP will be bumped up to 24% and CRIT DMG up to 36%. This is honestly the best 4-star you can equip on Mydei to utilize his kit, but it’s also, unfortunately, an event limited Light Cone. If you missed getting it, feel free to use any other option on this list.

The Unreachable Side

For a substitute 5-star Light Cone, The Unreachable Side may be the best in HSR for Mydei. It’s Blade’s signature Light Cone, and much like him, Mydei too scales off his HP. This Light Cone increases the wearer’s CRIT Rate and Max HP by 18%. Similarly, when the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, their DMG increases by 24%. This Light Cone is very similar to Mydei’s own signature and that’s why it’s the next best option for a 5-star.

Quite frankly, you don’t really need to get copies of The Unreachable Side as having the Light Cone at its base value is enough. Mydei’s kit doesn’t really require him to invest in CRIT Rate, so getting the copies which do boost his CRIT Rate means nothing. Just focus on obtaining the CRIT ratio through his relics and ornaments, and capitalize more on the HP boost given through the Light Cone.

Mydei’s signature Light Cone is Flame of Blood, Blaze My Path, and it’s no doubt his best-in-slot. That’s because this Light Cone is catered specifically to him and his skills with the HP boost, DMG boost, and HP recovery rate. It increases Max HP by 18% and Incoming Healing by 20%.

Additionally, if you use Mydei’s Skill or Ultimate, his attack DMG increases by 30%. Basically, this Light Cone allows Mydei to drain more of his HP by using his Skill or Ultimate, and then compensates for it with a 60% DMG increase if over 500HP is used. You need to have at least/if not more than 8000 HP on Mydei to take advantage of his kit with this or any Light Cone.
