World of Warcraft is full of raids and dungeons that are great to farm. But once an expansion moves on, the content becomes Legacy. That means it becomes easily soloable to finally track down the drops that you weren’t able to snag for one reason or another.

Unlock World of Warcraft’s impressive Thunderfury Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, and all the bragging rights that come with.
But what legacy raids are the best to solo farm? In this article, we’ll focus on legacy raids to see which is the best to solo from Shadowlands and before.
The best raid is the one that has the drops you want. Look up the loot table of all the old raids and see which has something you want. These raids don’t all drop the same stuff, so some target farming is necessary.

Hellfire Citadel
Hellfire Citadel was released in Warlords of Draenor, serving as some of the best endgame content the game had seen. This raid spent a long time being unsoloable due to some mechanics who were throwing wrenches in the plan. But for quite a while now, it’s been in the ranks of highly desired legacy raids to farm.

World Of Warcraft Classic: Every Starting Zone, Ranked
You’ll remember why some of these starting zones are just objectively better than others when playing through classic.
There are some unique appearances in here that you can’t find anywhere else, but there are also some mounts that keep us coming back for another try. Once you get past the first boss, everything goes rather quickly.
Going a ranged class will make the first boss go much quicker since you won’t have to travel to the spawning packs.

Siege Of Orgrimmar
Siege of Orgrimmar has a handful of unique items we’re all still farming. The Mists of Pandaria: Remix event made it so that many people were able to get what they wanted out of this expansion, but for those of us who still have a shopping list, Siege is an important step.
Siege also has skip mechanics that can bring you right to the end. This is perfect since Garrosh drops some of the most highly sought-after items in the game, such as his version of Gorehowl and his shoulder pads.
Unlocking the skip takes some work. If you haven’t run Siege of Orgrimmar, prioritize unlocking the skip.

The Black Temple
The Black Temple is a bit of a headache to farm. There’s a lot of RP, an annoying clear order, and a lot of walking to deal with. Playing a movement-heavy class will make this somewhat easier to handle, but even then, you have a lot of ground to cover. So, why bother?
The main reason is for the Twin Blades of Azzinoth. These unique glaives only drop from Illidan and are Legendary drops at that. Once you have them, killing Illidan with them again will unlock an appearance for you.
Playing a Druid or Rogue can help you cover ground faster.

The Eye
The Eye is a quick and easy farm, though there’s some RP you’ll have to get through. There are very few bosses to worry about, with only Kael’thas and A’lar being mandatory bosses at all. This isn’t a place you farm for transmogs but for rare drops.

Kael’thas has a very, very low chance of dropping the Ashes of A’lar mount, one of the rarest and most farmed items in the game. This is a unique phoenix mount you won’t find anywhere else.
Bring a book. Kael’thas spends full minutes monologuing and introducing his companions. There are often long pauses, so be patient – you probably didn’t glitch it.

Castle Nathria
Castle Nathria is a relatively quick and easy solo that won’t challenge you too much. While there’s a lot of RP that will stop the action, there’s also a plethora of unique, fashionable transmogs in this raid. You can also consider this as a stand-in for all of the Shadowlands raids, as they’ve all joined the legacy ranks.
One of the most desired items drops off of Denathrius himself. He has a rare chance of dropping a companion version of his sword, Remornia, which has a unique appearance. The weapon beads are also Warbound now, so you can transfer them among your characters.
You’ll need a healer to make Kael’thas an easy encounter in this raid. There are ways around it, but they’re much more time-consuming than healing him yourself.

The Firelands
The Firelands has been a farming spot since Cataclysm, and our fervor for this raid is showing no signs of slowing down. Whether you’re after transmogs, raw gold, or rare drops, this easy-to-farm raid has it all. We suggest bringing a vendor mount like the Tundra Mammoth or Yak so you can easily shed your grays and greens.
Some people farm this for Sulfuras, while others farm for the extremely low drop chance mounts. Whatever you’re farming for, this one’s easy to get to, as the portal to Hyjal puts you a few seconds away from the entrance to the Firelands.
Shannox only spawns once you’ve killed enough trash, so don’t skip every pack.
2
Tomb Of Sargeras
To represent the Legion expansion, the Tomb of Sargeras is our favored pick. This raid has a wide suite of unique transmogrification that can’t be found anywhere else, which quickly puts it on our shortlist.
The Abyss Worm is what most people are after, but there are plenty of other things to jump on. That said, expect to end up with some Artifact Weapon Relics you’ll need to vendor.
Legion traded weaponry for Artifact Weapons. You won’t be able to farm any fun weaponry from this raid or anything from Legion.

Icecrown Citadel
Icecrown Citadel has been a weekly clear for mount hunters since Wrath of the Lich King was released. There’s no secret – the main thing people are hunting for is Invincible, the extremely rare mount that only drops off of Arthas.
ICC is a slight headache to clear due to needing to clear every hall. The roleplay for the aerial battle and the fight afterward can slow things down, as does Arthas’s monologuing. Still, it’s worth it once you get Invincible.
Bring a healer! You can’t clear Valithria Dreamwalker without the ability to heal. If not, you can always skip her.
