This mission can be triggered by speaking to the Foreman Valch at the Black Horse Tavern. While the objectives may seem pretty straightforward at first, they get complicated, and there is a secret timer. Here, we will guide you through completing Striped Tonies easily.
How To Start Striped Tonies
You can start Striped Tonies after completing Yanker ‘n’ Flash. However, you must wait until evening and talk to Valch at the Black Horse Tavern. After talking to him, skip time at around 8pm and go to Hoprink Church.
This is a time-sensitive quest, so complete every objective as quickly as possible.
Do note that the quest will automatically fail if you wait until 12am. At 8pm, miners will likely be there if they don’t wait a little while. Once they are there, talk to them.
Accompanying The Miners
Now, you just have to accompany the miners. They will stop upon reaching the church. When they do so, talk to Anton, and he will suggest something. Choose the option: “I’d like to get my revenge on Preng,” and the next objective will start.
He will ask you to hang up braies on the top of the Saints’ tavern under a window. Follow the coordinates on your map and go inside the tavern. Then go up the stairs and open the door on your right. Do not rush in; stay in the crouch position, as you will be in a private area. Once you open the door, head inside and lockpick the door on the right. It will be easy to do, so open it and go up the ladder to your right.
Make sure not to fail, as the innkeeper will be sleeping on the bed, and he will wake up if you break the lockpick.
Once you are at the top, you will notice a window just ahead. Interact with it to hang braies. By doing so, you will also unlock the Under a Brown Flag trophy. After that, go back to Franzi and Anton. Talk to them, and they will suggest going for a drink. Agree with them to gain reputation; even if you don’t, they will go either way.
Follow them, and soon, an argument with the Saints will start. It will lead to a fistfight. Your focus should be on Preng. Defeat him and then focus on the others. Preng is the strongest among the enemies, but he won’t be much trouble.
Pick Up The Gift For Tess
Now that you are done with the fight, talk to Anton in the tavern. You can also just follow him there. Once there, he will ask you to get gifts for his girl, Tess. You can’t reject this, so first follow the coordinates on your map to get the flowers.
You can enter the area by lockpicking a hard lock to the south or climbing the wall to the north; the latter is easier. You can stick with lockpicking and get inside if you have high thievery skills. However, you can climb the barrels to go over the wall if you don’t.
Make sure to crouch, as you can be spotted by a dog and a gardener sleeping in the area. The flowers you need are in the middle of the garden. Steal the bouquet and climb the wall to the south with the help of some barrels.
After that, go inside the Cobbler shop and talk to Else. You will need to pass an Alchemy skill check to get the perfume, but if you don’t have enough points in the skill, choose the other option. Two more skills checks will appear, but both of them will have hard difficulty. Choose any you have more points in to get the perfume.
If you fail the skill check, you won’t get the perfume, but that isn’t necessary to complete the objective. Now, go back to Frenzi and give him the gifts. If you bring him both gifts, he will give you 175 Groschen. After that, agree to help again to continue the quest.
Carry Anton To The Last Church
Pick up Anton from the ground and carry him to the last church. Follow Franzi to the location and, upon reaching it, agree to take the oath in Anton’s place. You will have to choose the right options, and all of them will have a timer.
The following are the right options:
- “We swear before God, that we will open the shafts without malice and mine the vein honestly according to the law of God.”
- “We vow to work hard, listen to the foreman and duly hand over the ore.”
- “We swear to not mine silver on the feast day and give a few groschen to the church.”
If you choose more than one wrong answer, the priest will get angry.
