Should You Use Keyboard or Controller in Party Club

Should You Use Keyboard or Controller in Party Club

Party Club is a simple yet fun co-op game that puts four players in charge of a small restaurant that serves animal customers of different varieties. It has cute graphics, a charmingly bouncy control scheme, and a steep difficulty curve that keeps players on their toes as they attempt harder difficulties.

When playing the game, players have the option to use a controller or a keyboard to move their character and perform different actions. There is no mouse needed regardless of your choice, so you can sit back whether you’re using a keyboard or a controller, though it might be a bit more awkward with a keyboard.

Should You Play With Keyboard or Controller in Party Club

The Age-Old Question Surfaces Yet Again

the player in a level of party club

At its core, Party Club is a game made for a controller. There are only a few inputs that players need to worry about, there isn’t a lot of aiming that you need to do, and the game is best enjoyed when you’re sitting back on a couch with a couple of friends.

However, that’s not to say that playing with a keyboard is a lost cause. The control scheme on the keyboard is quite serviceable, being quite reminiscent of the keyboard layout of Overcooked 2. Unfortunately, there is no way to change the keyboard or controller key bindings in the game yet, though that feature might get added in the future. Bottom line, use a controller if you have one, but a keyboard will do the job just fine.

The devs of the game are quite responsive to community feedback, so you can expect many changes and updates to the game in the coming weeks and months.

Control Scheme for Keyboard and Controller in Party Club

Some Things Are Just Too Simple to Worry About

the control scheme in party club

The control scheme for the game is extremely simple. There are only eight actions that the player can perform in the game, the main one being moving around and interacting with objects. One important thing to keep in mind is that players can only use their movement buttons to aim. This means that you’ll need to move in the direction you want to throw an object, which can be a little tough to get used to.

The same is true for the dashing mechanic. You won’t dash in the direction you’re pressing, but rather in the direction you’re facing. The player’s character takes a few moments to reorient when you change direction, so it’s important to time your dashes correctly lest you end up on the wrong side of the map.
