Nvidia is dropping the prices of its GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 GPUs in Europe, but that doesn’t mean you’re going to find retailers selling them at this new, lower cost. Instead, only Founders Edition cards will be sold at this price for now, but these cards are still showing as out of stock on the Nvidia website.
In our RTX 5090 review, we found it to be the best graphics card for 4K gaming, even if it comes at a huge cost. Nvidia DLSS 4’s multi-frame gen also plays a big role in this performance, but this tech is available on all RTX 5000 GPUs.
These price drops are already live in Germany, with three of the four RTX 5000 GPUs dropping in price, while the RTX 5070 Ti retains the same price.
The new prices are €2,329 for the RTX 5090, a saving of €100, while the RTX 5080 has dropped to €1,119 from €1,169, a €50 saving. Finally, the RTX 5070 has dropped to €619 from €649, a €30 saving. No official reason is given for the price drops, but reports suggest it may have to do with a recent weakening of the US dollar.
In a similar vein, the RTX 5090 price has also lowered in the UK, dropping to £1,889 from £1,939, while the RTX 5080 has dropped to £949 from £979. Finally, the RTX 5070 has dropped to £529 from £539.
Despite the prices of these cards being dropped, there is no sign of increased availability or a return to MSRP outside of Nvidia’s listings, so the few cards that can be found won’t be dropping in price just yet.
Retailers are also not held to these new costs, with only Founders Edition cards being advertised at this new price. After a quick check, availability is scarce across all lines, but the few in-stock lines are sitting well above MSRP, including an RTX 5070 going for €819 from retailer Alternate.
