The Bug Out Event is making its return to Pokemon Go this year, an event centered around and featuring different Bug-type Pokemon. This year’s event will present players with both new and returning event features and bonuses, as well as a few Pokemon Go debuts.

The 2025 Bug Out Event will be a five-day event, active from Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 10am local time, to Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 8pm local time. There will be several notable changes and additions made to this event this year; here’s all you need to know about the 2025 Bug Out Event.
How To Get Sizzlipede And Centiskorch In Pokemon Go
Both Sizzlipede and its evolution Centiskorch will be making their Pokemon Go debuts during the Bug Out Event. During this event, you will have the opportunity to encounter and catch Sizzlipede through its own One-Star Raid and as a research reward.
Once acquired, you will have the option of evolving Sizzlipede into Centiskorch.
Doing so will require the use of 50 Sizzlipede Candy, acquired by catching, transferring, or hatching either Sizzlipede or Centiskorch.
It is unknown how rare Sizzlipede and Centiskorch will be following the conclusion of the Bug Out Event, so make sure to take advantage of this opportunity to add this new Pokemon to your collection.
Event Bonuses
There will be several bonuses available for players to benefit from throughout this year’s Bug Out Event. First, this includes a handful of bonuses that will reward you for catching Pokemon using accurate Poke Ball throws, including:
- Catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, or Excellent Throws will provide you with double the XP.
- Catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, or Excellent Throws will provide you with additional Candy.
- Catching Pokemon with Nice, Great, or Excellent Throws will increase the chances of earning Candy XL.
In addition to this, there will be other bonuses having to do with the different Pokemon you will encounter during this event. Each of these bonuses are provided for you below.
- Sizzlipede will be attracted to Lure Modules that are used.
- If enough Pokemon are caught from using a Lure Module, extra Pokemon will begin spawning.
- Higher likelihood of encountering both Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.

Event Wild Encounter Pokemon
There will be several event-themed Pokemon appearing in the wild during this event, mostly being Bug-type Pokemon. This includes:
- Caterpie
- Wurmple
- Weedle
- Nincada
- Venipede
- Dwebble
- Joltik
- Grubbin
- Cutiefly
- Dewpider
- Nymble
With these wild encounter Pokemon being Bug-types, make sure to have a Bug-type Pokemon Mega Evolved as often as possible during this event.
This will increase the number of Candy earned when catching different Bug-type Pokemon.
Event Raid Pokemon
There will also be different event-themed Pokemon found in Raids during this event, in both One-Star and Three-Star Raids. Below you can find each of these Raid Pokemon with the Raid Tier that they will be found in.

Event Research
Free Timed Research
You will be given access to Free Timed Research when logging into Pokemon Go during this event. Completing the different tasks for this Timed Research before the end of this event will provide you with both event-themed Pokemon encounters and a Lure Module.
Paid Timed Research
You can also purchase additional Timed Research from the Pokemon Go in-game shop, costing $2.00 USD. Completing this Paid Timed Research will reward you with:
- Two Premium Battle Passes
- One Lure Module
- Event-themed Pokemon encounters (including Sizzlipede)
You will only have until the end of this event to complete any Timed Research tasks and claim any rewards.
Event Field Research Tasks
You will have the opportunity to claim different Event Field Research Tasks during the Bug Out Event. Make sure to visit and spin different PokeStop Photo Discs to obtain these Field Research Tasks, rewarding you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and event-themed Pokemon encounters.
Collection Challenges
There will also be Collection Challenges available to complete during this event. You will need to catch and evolve specific Pokemon to complete these Collection Challenges, rewarding you with Stardust, XP, and event-themed Pokemon encounters.
