How to Find Samurai Daisho in Assassin's Creed Shadows

Every castle and fort in Assassin’s Creed Shadows contains a special chest, inside of which, players can find Legendary gear for Yasuke and Naoe. These chests are generally quite easy to find, as they’re usually in the highest tower of a castle or slap bang in the middle of the most heavily fortified part of a fort.

Every Assassin’s Creed Game, Ranked

From the original to now, every Assassin’s Creed game has its highs and lows, but which is the best?

However, before players can open a fort or castle’s legendary chest, they’ll first need to find and kill all of its Samurai Daisho, who tend to be a lot harder to find than the chest itself. Thankfully, rather than just running around aimlessly, there’s a rather simple method for finding Samurai Daisho in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

The best way to find Samurai Daisho is to hold down the aim button (L2 on PlayStation, LT on Xbox, or right-click on PC) and observe their surroundings. Players will want to look for white dots in the area around them and then focus the aiming reticule directly on them. If one of these white dots is a Samurai Daisho, they’ll be marked as such right away.

It’s worth noting that not all white dots are Samurai Daisho, with some being chests or other items of interest. Players should also keep in mind that this trick only works with Samurai Daisho who are within a certain range, so they’ll probably need to move to different parts of the castle or fort in order to find all of the Samurai Daisho.

While exploring larger forts and castles, it’s generally best to move around the outer perimeter and face inwards until all of the Samurai Daisho have been located and killed. Players can then fast travel back to the tenshu and drop down to the Legendary Chest, which will also show up as a white dot when players look around while holding aim.
