  • Summoners Academy ended abruptly with incomplete villain motivations
  • I Regressed as the Duke disappointed fans with a forced conclusion

There are way too many Great Manhwa that for some reason end up too soon. Some might have reached a point of no return due to their authors getting tired or jumping into other series, or worst case scenario, due to health issues. Meanwhile, there are other series that have ended quite unexpectedly due to publishing issues, or not reaching the desired results, thus, ending up axed.

A list of the bravest Isekai Manhwa MCs who are strong and fear nothing. The best characters if you like to read action series.

Nevertheless, this list covers some Manhwa series that were doing great until they ended sooner than expected, alongside the reasons behind their abrupt endings.

Readers be warned! If you are reading some of these series and don’t want spoilers, turn back now!

FFF-CLASS Trash Hero

Axed Before The Story Came Into Fruition

FFF-CLASS Trash Hero
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Shounen, Isekai
  • Author: Farnar (Art & Story)

Among the many canceled series in the Manhwa world, FFF-CLASS Trash Hero is perhaps the most recent victim of the mighty fall of the axe. The author was forced to rush content through the last arc, leaving too many loose ends, side characters still looking for their own resolution side-story, and a main character that went out of his training sequence to rush a final confrontation with the BBEG once and for all.

Needless to say, some fans suspect that this was due to the author attempting to divert the attention to its other ongoing series, Is this Hero For Real?, which at the time of writing this article, seems to be receiving the same treatment as FFF-CLASS Trash Hero.

Summoners Wars: Summoners Academy

Its Abrupt Ending Shocked Fans

Summoners Academy

  • Genre: Action, School Life, Comedy, Sword and Sorcery, Drama
  • Author: Tarzyan
  • Artists: Grami

Sometimes, great Manhwa stories are not meant to last 500 chapters or more, instead, they are cut short to 50 entries before the story finally comes to an ending. Such is the case of Summoners Academy, a series that became one of the best prospects to read in 2025, but around chapter 47, rushed content until it ended sooner than expected with a final confrontation against the Headmaster of the Academy.

Without explaining the motivations of the main villain, and showcasing a bittersweet (and forced) post-battle reunion between the two MCs, this School Life Fantasy series came to an end. Shocked fans are still trying to figure out why, since its ratings were quite good despite having started recently, and the artwork was quite decent and colorful.

The Story Of A Low-Ranking Soldier Becoming A Monarch

The Last Battle Arc Left Fans Wanting For More, But Then Came A Forced Epilogue That Nobody Expected

  • Genres: Medieval, Martial Arts, Action, Aventure, War & Conquest
  • Author: doip
  • Artist: SOULPUNG

Strangely enough, some great stories come full-circle, and there’s no reason to keep delaying the unavoidable: the ending. Still, in the case of Becoming The Monarch, fans are still trying to figure out why it ended so abruptly. With Count Chris Proudmoor finally facing the end of the Civil War in the Kingdom, and becoming a unifier Monarch, readers expected to see the reconstruction phase and some Kingdom Management stories.

7 New Anime With Unique Worldbuilding

These Anime series are ideal for those looking for a fresh take on worldbuilding and fantasy.

Sadly, the author decided it was time to end things (for good) and a fast-forward type of epilogue closed (not entirely) some of the Main Character and Secondary Character side stories. However too many loose ends remained, and those who vowed for the Alchris ship (Alice+Chris) ended up greatly disappointed.

A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special

A Cliffhanger Ending Was The Worst Possible Idea

Desir Arman from A Returners Magic Should Be Special
  • Genres: Isekai, Sword & Magic, School Drama
  • Author: Wookjakga
  • Artist: Usonan

Despite fans claiming the novel and the anime are quite good, those reading the Manhwa were left with a bittersweet taste after its ending back in 2024. With a closing chapter (epilogue) showcasing a power struggle between the two main heroines: Adjest and Romantica, and a cliffhanger that makes readers understand that it could have gone either way.

Those in team Adjest believed that she and Desir made the most satisfactory couple, with her becoming the Empress and Desir as the Arch Mage and a reformist, as happens in the novel. Then, team Romantica was fairly disappointed that things didn’t end with an alternative ‘canonical’ ending where Desir and Romantica elope together. One thing is for sure: no one was pleased with that epilogue.

I Regressed As The Duke

In Only Five Chapters, Everything Ended In A Cloud Of Mystery

Cheryl Brahn the master archmage shouting at her troops in I Regressed As The Duke
  • Genres: Sword & Sorcery, Reincarnation, Action, Adventure, Drama, Dark Fantasy
  • Author: Golaengji
  • Artist: Lee Ha-Jeon

There are some times when a Manhwa series is going Great, then it takes a surprise turn for the worst, like in the case of I Regressed as the Duke. During the Duke’s Memorial Service Arc, where everyone in the Duchedom is conspiring to attract the Emperor to a trap, and the story finally being directed towards a final battle Arc, everything came crushing down.

The summoning of a demon from the past, lots of loose ends, a ridiculous explanation about reincarnation, the forced death of the Main Character, and a strange romance with one of the Female Leads that made no sense at all. It was so forced that in only five chapters, the story did a 180º turn and rushed to a conclusion that did no justice to an otherwise great plot that the author was cooking from the start. There were no justifications as to why it ended this way, but fans suspect it was axed.

How To Fight

Some Fans Say It Ended Well, But Some Characters Didn’t Have Enough Closure

How To Fight Manhwa cover
  • Genres: Streaming, Martial Arts, School Drama, Romance
  • Author & Artist: Park Tae Joon

Alongside Lookism and Eleceed, How To Fight was going through a rush of popularity as one of the top Action Martial Arts series, but the author decided it was time to bring it to an end. Although many fans believe it was a worthy ending for quite a wild ride (that lasted 218 chapters) others felt that they were not ready to let the story go of this mean-spirited series.

But, as it happens to be, the most shipped option (Bomi Choi and Hobin Yoo) ended up becoming an actual couple at the end, which received a lot of approval despite the series closing curtains. Although, some loose ends made fans think the author was forced to bring a rushed ending out of the blue, and that some secondary characters didn’t receive the attention they deserved.
