Some Grand Theft Auto Online players have the opportunity to nab up to $3 million in in-game currency, but not all of it is entirely free. Like its single-player counterpart, Grand Theft Auto Online is now well over a decade old, but the live service title remains one of the most popular in gaming thanks to a steady stream of new content updates and features from Rockstar Games. Unfortunately, much of the latest content requires players to be as rich as possible, but that’s no easy task.
Grand Theft Auto 6 might be on the horizon, but that hasn’t stopped developer Rockstar Games from slowing down on new Grand Theft Auto Online updates. On March 4, both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online received a huge PC update that massively improved the game’s graphics. After releasing the “Expanded & Enhanced” version of Grand Theft Auto 5 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S back in 2022, PC users finally received the same update three years later. The Enhanced edition comes with a wide array of new graphical improvements and features, including ray-tracing features such as ambient occlusion, global illumination, ray-traced shadows and reflections, and much more.

GTA Online Players Can Get 3 Million, But Not All of It Is Free
The massive update has already seen Grand Theft Auto 5 and Online break an impressive Steam record, as plenty of new and returning players flocked to the title to check out its latest features. With the massive influx of players, plenty of older players might be realizing that they are in need of a quick cash fix to get their hands on all of the content that Grand Theft Auto Online has to offer. The good news is that Rockstar Games is offering some players $3 million if they meet specific requirements, according to a new offer on its website. Players who haven’t logged into GTA Online in the last 60 days will receive $1 million for logging in, no questions asked. But getting a hold of the remaining $2 million is slightly trickier.
Grand Theft Auto Online players looking to receive the remaining $2 million will need to fork out on one of Grand Theft Auto‘s controversial Shark Cards. After logging in and receiving $1 million, the next $1.5 million can be obtained by purchasing a Great White, Whale, or Megalodon Shark Card, which are priced at $19.99, $49.99, and $99.99, respectively. Finally, for those dedicated enough, the remaining $500,000 can be acquired by becoming a GTA+ member, which is a subscription service priced at $7.99 per month. The service comes with a myriad of benefits, including $500,000 every month, vehicle discounts, CEO and VIP perks, and much more.
The offer is unlikely to draw much attention from fans, especially given the caveat that most of it requires players to spend real-life money. There’s also the recent controversy surrounding a supposed free vehicle in Grand Theft Auto Online, which still has some fans reeling after being charged almost $2 million for Karin S95. The car was supposed to be free for users upgrading to the Enhanced version of the game, but the majority of players found they were immediately charged for the vehicle despite it being labeled as “free.”
