Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals 2025: what we expect from this year’s sale

Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals

Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals are one of the best times to give your Nintendo gaming setup a boost. The current Switch is now eight years old, which means there’s a ton of games, controllers, headsets, and a magnitude of other accessories primed for receiving some worthwhile discounts.

The best Black Friday gaming deals in 2024 were full of discounts on Nintendo Switch-related goodies. There were record new lows for huge games like Tears of the Kingdom, and even brand-new releases at the time, from Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to Sonic X Shadow Generations saw debut discounts over November. Most surprisingly, we saw big retailers like Walmart drop the prices of Switch console bundles, like the Switch OLED Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle which was under $300 – one of the stand-out deals from the day.

This year is shaping up to be just as fruitful, especially with the Nintendo Switch 2 launch on the horizon. Nintendo hasn’t yet announced a release date, but rumors hint that it’ll drop well before November 28. This means we could see huge deals on older Switch games and accessories, and even brand-new Switch 2 bundles could steal the show. If you want to be kept in the know of any future Switch 2 deals, and what else could be in store this Black Friday, we’ve used our years of Ninty deal hunting to give you a low-down of what to expect during this year’s sales.

This year’s Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals are shaping up to be an exciting time. The highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is launching sometime this year, and while we’re still days away from finding out an exact release date, rumors suggest it’ll land in our hands well before Black Friday this year.

This would give Ninty plenty of time to start creating some new Nintendo Switch 2 bundles and drop them during this year’s sales. If there’s no bundles to be seen, savings on the new console alone are also a big likelihood and are worth keeping an eye on if you’re already not that fussed about grabbing the Switch 2 the second it becomes available.

Even if the Switch 2 isn’t a part of this year’s sales, its existence could still do wonders. With eyes all on the new console, and its new games and accessories that’ll follow, retailers may want to get rid of old stock. Taking that into consideration, we could expect to see huge discounts on everything from controllers, headsets, and even Nintendo Switch cases. I mean, we see these each year anyway, with 2024 being the place for record-breaking discounts on the CRKD Nitro Deck+, which dropped to $59.99, or even the official Joy-Con controllers saw record-low prices at $59.99 over the sales period. But, even bigger discounts could make 2025 one of the best years for Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals so far.

This will spell great news for those sticking with the current handheld, and anyone looking to make the next-gen leap. Ninty confirmed the Switch 2 will be compatible with current physical Switch games, so it would be an opportune time to start grabbing any Switch games you may have missed and create a bustling game library in time for the Switch 2 launch.

With SD cards getting cheaper every year, this Black Friday will also be a great time to pick up some extra storage. We don’t yet have confirmation if the Switch 2 has a microSD slot, but if you’re sticking with your aging Switch, grabbing one of the best Nintendo Switch SD cards at a fraction of the price during the sales will put you in good stead to stretch the value of your current handheld.

Overall, this year’s Black Friday Nintendo Switch deals mostly evolve around the existence of the Switch 2 in some shape or form. Hopefully, we’ll see some brand-new console bundles if it launches well before November 28, but regardless, we’re bound to have another year of record-low discounts for current Switch games, accessories, and even on Lite and OLED models of the handheld itself too.
