In each major region of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are small groups of NPCs that offer long-form side quests that deal with the issues in that specific region. Some of these side quests require Naoe or Yasuke to collect items, while others involve much deeper investigations into the crime rings that bleed Japan dry. One such quest is offered by Kuma, one of the “People of Omi” NPCs offering quests in that region. “The Corrupt Daikan” tasks the player with tracking down a group of corrupt nobles, enriching themselves by exploiting the commoners. To complete the quest, players must locate all six Corrupt Daikan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and bring them to justice.

How to Start The Corrupt Daikan Quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Complete “The Price of Rice”:
Once you have unlocked access to Yasuke in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, complete his personal quests until you reach “An Education.” At the end of this quest, Kuma will arrive to pass you information about Lady Oichi, as well as the general issue that leads to “The Corrupt Daikan.” After this, Yuma appears in the “People of Omi” section in the objectives tab.
Next, you want to begin the mission to kill “The Mourner,” one of the Shinbakufu. You’ll notice that the first mission, “A Walk With A Lady,” is based around Lady Oichi. Completing this mission will open up three further missions, including “The Price of Rice.” Completing “The Price of Rice” will reveal the full list of Corrupt Daikan.
Upon examining the circle of Corrupt Daikan, you’ll notice that one of the Daikan does not have any available information. This Daikain is found outside the structure where you confront The Mourner. Continue following that quest line after “The Price of Rice,” and you’ll literally kill two birds with one stone by the end.
While it is possible to accidentally stumble across any of the Corrupt Daikan during your travels across Japan, you must speak with Kuma to fully complete the mission.

The Sword Hunter |
The Sword Hunter is located in Nomura Village, a small town right on the border between the Ibu Highlands and the Suzuka Foothills in Omi. Nagahama is not far to the northwest of Nomura Village. You’ll find the Sword Hunter in a courtyard right in the center of town. As Naoe, you can use the large tree and grappling hook to swing over and assassinate the Sword Hunter from the air. |

The Hoarder |
The Hoarder will only be revealed on the circle once you complete “The Price of Rice.” However, there is no information available about The Hoarder. This is because he is found at Hongonji Temple at the same time as The Mourner. After completing “The Price of Rice,” complete the quest to kill The Mourner – or “The Wheel,” as their name is eventually revealed to be. Following the quest will automatically lead you to the island where both The Wheel and The Hoarder are found. The Hoarder is found roaming the courtyard directly outside the temple where The Wheel is found. |

The Hedonist |
The Hedonist is found just north of Omizo Castle, in the Ado River Valley section of Omi. You’ll find him in a small hut in the village surrounding the castle. If you use Naoe, you can creep under the building through a hole in the back. This will lead directly inside, allowing for an easy assassination. |

The Soiled Merchant |
The Soiled Merchant is located in a small estate in Otsu Lower District in Mouth of Seta. This village is found in the southwest corner of Omi. You’ll find the merchant’s estate in the southwestern corner of the district. |

The Concubine |
The Concubine is located in the southern section of Kyoto, in Yamashiro. If you scout the lower areas of the city, you’ll reveal the target location easily. The Concubine is in the middle of a performance when you attack, and she is heavily guarded. It is very difficult to get close without altering her guards. Prepare for a fight. |

The Connoisseur |
The final Corrupt Daikan is hidden far to the north, in Kanagasaki Castle, the northernmost outpost in the Sotomo Gate province of Wakasa. Instead of fighting your way through the entire castle – the Samurai Daisho are level 41 – it’s much easier to make your way around the outside of the castle as Naoe. You climb the wall at the northern edge of the northern courtyard, then jump down and kill The Connoisseur. |

How to Complete the Corrupt Daikan in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Return to Kuma:
Once you have successfully killed all six Corrupt Daikan, you’ll automatically be notified of the final mission. All you need to do is return to Kuma at Kuma’s Lookout, near the Hachiman Kakurega. The location is in the Shimmering Fields province in Omi. Speak to Kuma and Lady Nene to discover some interesting facts about this entire questline, including a discussion that sounds more like it would be coming from the Assassin’s true enemies, which we all know must show its face at some point in the story.
