Chris Rausch, one of the co-creators of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, has revealed a new snowboarding game titled Shred Island, developed within Fortnite. The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater lead is known for contributing to several different titles in the long-running series, starting all the way back with the 1999 original.
Since bursting onto the scene at the end of the millennium, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater has gone on to establish itself as a top sports game IP, with multiple highly rated releases under its belt. Its latest entry, 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, marked a triumphant return for the franchise and achieved significant commercial and critical milestones in an impressively short time. The series veteran, Rausch, recently played his part in shipping another action sports game, but this time as an experience within Epic Games’s wildly popular online game-cum-platform called Fortnite.

Former Neversoft Game Designer Rausch, his son and UEFN editor Andrew, and the code36 team came together to roll out Shred Island as a map in Fortnite‘s Creative Mode. It can be accessed by looking up the code “0875-5132-5368” in the online multiplayer title. This kind of mini-game, also known as an island in the game’s lingo, is a custom in-game environment created using the Unreal Editor tool and is freely available to Fortnite players. The Shred Island map can be played either by a solo player or by a total of up to 10 players, as they compete in five different missions across five distinct tracks for bragging rights on the game’s leaderboard. Interestingly, besides pulling off various tricks and collecting coins while snowboarding, the player can also upgrade their equipment before heading out for the next race. Moreover, the devs have also shared plans for expanding the game with “Live DJ Events” in the near future.

- In Fortnite, access Search from the top of the screen.
- Enter “Shred Island” or “0875-5132-5368” in the field.
- Select the desired map.
Thanks to Fortnite‘s massive popularity, the Epic Games-developed title has grown beyond the usual boundaries of a game and has become a platform in itself in recent years. It currently houses various different modes, namely Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite Creative, Fortnite: Save the World, Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, Fortnite Festival, and Fortnite Ballistic. Among these, Creative Mode is where players can create and share their personalized maps with the community. The newly added Shred Island map is just one of the many intriguing custom experiences available for Fortnite players to indulge in.
In the meantime, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fans can look forward to another remake game coming later in 2025. As revealed earlier in March, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 is set to present the third and fourth mainline entries in a whole new light on July 11, 2025, across PC and consoles.
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater is a series of skateboarding games from Activision. The original trilogy of games, which were developed by Neversoft and released between 1999 and 2001, were huge hits with critics.
2002’s Pro Skater 4 was also well received, although 2015’s Pro Skater 5 received a brutal 32 Metascore on PS4. The first two Pro Skater games were remastered in 2020.
