Team Liquid returns to its former glory by winning their first LAN tournament of 2025 at PGL Wallachia Season 3.
The International 2024 Champions has been relatively underwhelming since their victory, coupled with Neta “33” Shapira’s departure, fans held low expectations for Liquid to ever win PGL Wallachia S3. Yet, against all odds, and a new offlane player, Team Liquid has succeeded.

Team Liquid defeats Tundra Esports at PGL Wallachia S3
In an absolute showcase of dominance, Team Liquid defeated Tundra Esports with a score of 3-1 in the best-of-five grand finals.
Their opponent, Tundra Esports, were certainly no pushovers, having won multiple Dota 2 tournaments in 2025 themselves. Notably, they won BLAST Slam II and FISSURE PLAYGROUND #1 . Additionally, they also placed runner-up finishes at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 2024, BLAST Slam I, and most recently, DreamLeague S25. Needless to say, defeating Tundra alone was already a commendable feat on its own at PGL Wallachia S3.
Recap on PGL Wallachia S3 Grand Finals
Each game in the grand finals was a treat for Dota 2 viewers watching over the weekend. However, one of the most impressive games was the second, where Liquid destroyed Tundra within 36 minutes. And, it’s all thanks to Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek and his trusty support, Samuel “Boxi” Svahn.
The hard lane duo played against Tundra’s Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov. The hard carry player has been in the spotlight for being Tundra’s golden boy. Yet, SabeRLight- and Boxi made quick work of dyrachyo and his lane partner, shutting them down oppressively. With Night Stalker’s incredible momentum, this didn’t take long to translate into mid-game dominance and eventually the game itself.
The Night Stalker pick definitely struck fear into Tundra as we see them priority-banning the hero in later games. Unfortunately, that didn’t stop Liquid from picking alternatives, such as Tidehunter for SabeRLight-, which was also incredible among the best Dota 2 heroes in PGL Wallachia S3 .
Tundra’s response to the last-pick Tidehunter turned out to be offlane Death Prophet, which didn’t play out. With game 4 looking terrible for Tundra, it didn’t take long before Liquid sealed the grand finals at PGL Wallachia S3.
Winning TI14 wasn’t a fluke
The offlane player aside, the rest of the team were also incredible. Michael “miCKe” Vu and Michał “Nisha” Jankowski are consistent carry players, worthy of their titles as best Dota 2 players in 2025 , so SabeRLight-‘s performance simply expedited Liquid’s execution to victory. While SabeRLight- finally got his first Dota 2 LAN tournament victory, Boxi also deserves some credit for doing what he does best as a support player.
With this glorious victory at PGL Wallachia S3, it should shut down the Team Liquid haters, who have been calling Liquid’s TI14 success a fluke if it wasn’t for 33’s presence. This victory just goes to show that Liquid has talented individual players, that each contributed to their success all along.
Despite the early season of poor performances, this Dota 2 line-up stuck together through thick and thin until their day at PGL Wallachia S3.
