How To Start Escape Plan?

Avowed map showing the Administration District Beacon and Remei's location.

To begin the Escape Plan side quest, find Remei Gardiola. As soon as you exit Liviana’s Clinic, take the stairs, you’ll spot Remei at the top. The nearest Fast Travel to Remei is the Administration District Beacon.

When you speak with her, she’ll immediately recognize you as the Envoy who saved the ambassador and was killed near the gate upon arriving in Paradis. Remei wants to help her Aedyran friends, Leoflaed and Glaedwine, as a way to repay them for aiding her in the past.

The Envoy meets Remei Gardiola.

Exhaust her dialogue to learn more about her history with the couple. She’ll explain that as more Aedyrans arrive in Paradis, Leoflaed and Glaedwine are at risk of being recognized. Now they need to flee to Thirdborn.

To help them escape, you’ll need to:

  • Find
    Ondra’s Kiss

    to heal Glaedwine’s eyes.

  • Obtain the
    Thirdborn Land Deeds

    from Meiko.

Alternatively, you can find Leoflaed and Glaedwine in Shantytown and talk to them to start the Escape Plan side quest.

It’s best to complete Escape Plan before taking down Taskmaster Thalla in An Untimely End. If you kill him first, the Sparrowhawks will become hostile, making it harder to move around since they will attack you on sight.

Get The Land Deeds

The location of Meiko on the map, marked by a blue, glowing arrow.

To complete Escape Plan in Avowed fast, get the Land Deeds first since they’re in the Pearl District near there.

Finding Meiko can be tricky since the area is structured like a maze. So, you should start at the Eastern Paradis Gate Beacon, and run through two archways. Then, turn right to enter Market District. Head up the stairs and enter the first house on the right.

On the rightmost path with benches, you can loot a Paradisan Trout Pie

and Fruitful Wine

. In the corner, there’s a Lockbox that requires a lockpick to open, containing Silver Fenning, Agate

, Paradisan Ladder

, Common Dagger

, Health Potion

, Iron Chunk

, Pelt

, and Spider Leg

.

The Envoy is lockpicking a lockbox.

After that, round the building, look for an open door and head inside.

An area with various crates, faraway on the right is an open door, which is very hard to see.

Turn right, and you’ll spot a lotus pond. Nearby, Meiko’s corpse lies on the ground. Loot her to obtain the Thirdborn Land Deeds.

The Envoy is looting Meiko for the Thirdborn Land Deeds.

On the wall, you’ll find a note with threats from the Sparrowhawks, warning the Rauataian about her overdue payment. It seems Meiko couldn’t settle her debt in time, leading to her unfortunate fate.

The Envoy sees the threat left by the Sparrowhawks.

Meiko’s location is quite hard to spot, so here’s a video to help you out:

Get Ondra’s Kiss

Avowed Ondra's Kiss

To get Ondra’s Kiss for Escape Plan, fast travel to Gods’ Gate Beacon and turn right. Follow the path and you’ll come across two trails leading up the hill. Ignore the first one, take the second one and follow your quest-finder arrow.

Eventually, you’ll reach a cliff where you can see the Ondra’s Kiss and a giant reptile skeleton. Drop down to get the Ondra’s Kiss.

If it’s too confusing, here’s a video guide for you:

How To Find Leoflaed And Glaedwine

Leoflaed and Glaedwine stand in a run-down room.

To find Leoflaed and Glaedwine, fast travel to Claviger’s Landing Beacon and follow the path forward. Turn right, cross two archways, and you’ll reach a river where a Fisherman and a Paradis Citizen are talking.

Cross the stone bridge and follow the trail until you enter a run-down area with old wooden buildings and struggling refugees.

The Envoy runs to Shantytown, an area of crumbling wooden buildings.

Keep going straight until you hit a dead end, then turn right and head up. Take an immediate left and continue until the path ends. Turn left again, and you’ll spot a ladder leading to the second floor. Climb up.

Before turning around to reach the couple’s room, grab the Tarnished Suolenet on your right for the Lost Suoles quest.

The Envoy clims up the ladder, on the right is the Tarnished Suolenet glowing orange.

After collecting the Tarnished Suolenet, turn around, run down the corridor, and cross the makeshift wooden bridge. To your right is Glaedwine and Leoflaed’s room. To your left, there’s a Lockbox containing Copper Skeyt, Softwood Branch

, Pelt, and Bear Claw

. Loot it.

The Envoy is heading toward a glowing lockbox.

Backtrack and return to Leoflaed and Glaedwine’s room. After a brief introduction, you can give them the Ondra’s Kiss and the Land Deeds. However, the quest doesn’t end here.

Leoflaed and Glaedwine explain that the smugglers helping them escape found out they’re Aedyran and doubled the price, leaving them without enough money to get out of Paradis. If you want to help, you’ll need to find a way to deal with this problem for them.

During the conversation, Glaedwine accidentally lets it slip that he and Leoflaed are wanted fugitives. Eventually, they’ll admit that they killed two people over a land dispute. It was self-defense, but they’re not proud of it.

This revelation opens up a new option: You can report them to Captain Aelfyr. So, you now have three different endings based on how you handle the situation.

If You Deal With The Smugglers

Ilora is convincing captain Soldis to help the Envoy.

The smugglers are beached north of the Sea Stacks, and you’ll need to talk to Captain Soldis to negotiate Leoflaed and Glaedwine’s escape. How this plays out depends on whether you released Ilora from prison earlier.

If You Released Ilora From Prison

If you released her, she’ll be here to vouch for you, making things much easier. Thanks to her help, Soldis agrees to smuggle the couple out for free. The smugglers will be ready to take them to Thirdborn as soon as they’re ready.

If You Didn’t Release Ilora From Prison

Without Ilora’s support, you’ll need to pay the extra fee to get the couple smuggled out. If you refuse to pay, the only way forward is fighting the smugglers.

Return To Leoflaed And Glaedwine

Once you’ve sorted things out with the smugglers, return to Leoflaed and Glaedwine. As thanks, they’ll reward you with a stash of materials, including Softwood Branch, Pelt, Paradisan Ladder, and Iron Chunk.

If You Report Leoflaed And Glaedwine To Captain Aelfyr

Captain Aelfyr assures the Envoy that she's sending troops to capture Leoflaed and Glaedwine.

To report Leoflaed and Glaedwine to Captain Aelfyr, fast travel to Administration District Beacon. Turn around, go up the stairs, and enter the door leading to Paradis Hightown.

Walk straight past the fountain, go under a bridge, and climb a few flights of stairs. Turn around, and you’ll spot Captain Aelfyr standing in front of a building with flags in yellow and purple.

Captain Aelfyr stands before a stone building with flags in yellow and purple.

When you report the refugee couple, your companions will disapprove, but Captain Aelfyr will be pleased. She will dispatch Steel Garrote agents to capture them as a warning to the other citizens.

You’ll earn XP, but there won’t be any other reward. If you return to Leoflaed and Glaedwin’s room in Shantytown, you won’t see them anymore.
